•Chapter 21•

After the dinner in Siddiqui house, all the relatives and friends bade adieu to the newly married couple giving them the best of wishes.

Hidayah locked the door after bidding bye to her inlaws. After doing her usual chores before going to bed, she was finally laying on her bed, getting off the day's tiresome. Taking her mobile, she checked on the messages that kept coming from the evening. But she couldn't get the time to see it herself.

"I'm so sorry darlings, I couldn't attend the big day of your lives because my husband is really sick. And I'm genuinely happy that you guys ended up together. I wish you all the happiness of this world. Come on, send me your wedding pictures. I'm waiting". Hidayah read Annie's message.

To which she replied, "That's okay, Annie. I understand. And thank you so much. May Allah grant shifa to your husband".

After she clicked on the send button of their wedding pictures to Annie, her mobile phone started ringing. Her heart started beating so loudly giving tough competition to the loud ringing of her cellphone indicating a call from her husband.  Nevertheless, she picked it up.

"Assalamualaikum, sweetheart". She heard Asad's soothing voice.

"Walaikumassalam".

"Were you sleeping?"

"No I was just checking Annie's message".

"She did send me one".

"May Allah grant her husband Shifa".

"Aameen and what wishes do you have for your husband?". Asad asked to tease her.

"You will always be in my prayers, Asad". Hidayah said slightly sad for having to stay away from her husband. She really didn't think, it would be this difficult to bid him bye.

And on the other side, Asad was touched by her words. He didn't expect her to voice her heart out. And also he knew she was sad about something.

"Are you Okay Hidayah? You sound upset".

"Nothing. I'm just tired".

"Ohh Do you want me to end the call so you can take rest?".

"Oh no no! I'm okay". Hidayah said quickly making him smile.

"Hidayah, I love you". Asad said genuinely which made her numb.

She didn't expect him to say those words at this moment.

"You dont have to return the same feeling. But just know that this is the best day of my life. And the half an hour I spent with you is one of the best moments. Thank you for accepting me as your husband". Asad said making her blush. On seeing her mum, he asked her further, "What happened?".

"You always make me tongue tied".

"What else do I make you?". Asad smirked.

"Asad!".

"Tell me wifey".

"You're not as innocent as you seem to be".

"Ohh, I don't want to be one around you".

"Why?".

"My wife deserves to know her husband's true colours".

"I would love to know".

"What else do you love?". Asad asked her purposely to tease her.

"Asad! ".

"Yes".

"Can I come to the airport, tomorrow?".

"Since, this is the first time, you have asked something from me, how can i even refuse?". Asad said sighing softly.
