•Chapter 24•
"Hidayah, are you okay? ". Anam asked once they were inside the car driving back home after bidding adieu to Haseena.
On not getting any response from her sister cum sister in law, Anam shook her to bring her back to the world, "Hidayah, please talk to me". Anam said.
Looking straight in her eyes, Hidayah spoke, "What's left to talk Anam?". She said. Tears threatening to come out ruthlessly and it did.
Anam was taken aback to see her so hurt. Well who wouldn't be? It's so dreadful to have come across such a situation in a girl's life. She so wished her brother to be right here. It would have been a bit easy to console her. Patting her back, "Cry as much as you want, Hida. Just let everything come out". Anam said.
On an abrupt halt of their car, "What happened chacha?". Anam asked.
"Why is Hidayah beta crying. Is everything okay? Asad baba always asks me whether she's fine! What will I answer him if he ask me the same question now? ". Rahim asked concerned.
"He will not, this time!". Anam said.
"Why? ". He asked.
"Because they had a fight". Anam said quickly.
"Ohh. Don't worry beta. He loves you too much to be incensed on you any longer". Rahim said making Hidayah cry with some new set of tears.
This tears consisted of guilt and helplessness.
Guilt because she thought, she's not deserving for Asad.
And helplessness, because she couldn't do anything to save herself from that moron. She was really thankful that Kabir came there at the right time. If not that, she doesn't even want to think of the possibilities.
"Let's go chacha". Anam said and he started the engine.
"Take this". Anam said giving her the water bottle. After sipping enough, she gave back her the bottle.
"Do you think, we should call bhai?". Anam asked.
"Hmmmm....".
Anam dialled his number which was switched off.
"Why on earth bhai has switched off his cell phone?". Anam asked pissed off.
"He must be busy Anam".
And the next moment, they heard her phone ringing, "It's Kabir bhai". Anam said receiving the call.
"Yes bhai".
"Where are you?". Kabir enquired. He was about to join them to drop them home safely as instructed by Asad but Hidayah didn't find it right to let him accompany them. Haseena's family might need him after all, he's the only brother in law of the bride.
"On the way to home".
"Okay! How's she?".
"She's good somewhat".
"Hmmm... She will be fine. In sha Allah. Did Asad call you or her?".
"No Bhai. His phone is switched off".
"That's what. I did call him at his office. They said he left an hour ago".
"Really? I hope he's maintaing his calm".
"I hope so too".
"Chalo we reached, I'll call you if anything emergency pops up".
"Please Anam. I'll be glad".
"Yes bhai, Assalamualaikum".
"Walaikumassalam". She hang up and got off the car with Hidayah.
"You should go back home Anam. You have college tomorrow".
