•Chapter 25•
When it was nearing dawn, Hidayah fell asleep.
"Come on Hidayah". Asad said telling her to climb on a swing.
"Okay". Hidayah said and hopped on a swing.
Asad pulled it forward for her. She started enjoying the moment where Asad was with her. She felt like she's dreaming.
It was surreal.
It was magical.
She didn't know how to frame right words for her happiness. She indeed was happiest because her man was finally with her after all the hardships they had to go through.
"Pull it a little harder, Asad". She said.
He did pull it but then he stopped it suddenly. Hidayah looked back at him questioning. Without giving her an answer, he moved towards her making a place for himself in the swing. They both started swinging together.
She felt complete with him".
The door clicked open and Hidayah was made to come back to the reality from her sweet dream. She analysed her surroundings.
"It was just a dream". Murmuring to herself, she pretended to be asleep not in a mood to entertain the visitor.
Her skin was met with a familiar touch. She resisted the urge to jerk away the hand that was resting on her head caressing it. Because she felt different on the contact.
"Hidayah". But the next words of the person made her sit back straight looking at the hazel orbs, she so desperately wanted to look into.
"Asad". She said unable to believe what she's looking at. She thought, she's still dreaming. She didn't wanted to blink, what if the reality escapes her dream just like it did a while ago?
"Hidayah". She heard him call her name again. And in the meantime, she blinked twice and still saw him there. She tried to touch his face to make sure she wasn't dreaming. But the next move of him made her believe, she's not dreaming but experiencing the moment, she so eagerly wanted to feel.
He hugged her tight, "I'm so sorry. I couldn't be there". He said crying. "You had to go through all that. I'm so sorry but now I'll make sure you're safe". Asad said still in the hug.
"Asad". Taking his name, she closed her eyes letting the tears get the new address to flow this time.
"Yes Wifey. I'm right here". He said consoling her.
She smiled at his concern. She wont lie, it was the genuine smile that came from her in this 24 hours.
"I love you so much, Asad". She said truthfully. Because nothing else coming from her mouth would have done justice to the feeling she's overwhelmed with right now. His mere presence made her feel so comforting that she didn't feel any pain that was causing her brutually some moments ago.
"Let me hug you a little more, please". She pleaded.
Asad was taken aback by her previous confession and the latter one did nothing but made him happy to be back to his lady.
He hugged her.
She hugged him.
They remained in each others embrace for what they felt like eternity.
Asad slowly made her sleep as he was on top of her. And then he too laid beside her. She kept her head on his heart which was beating mercilessly. She calmed his heart giving it the comfort, it needed at the moment.
