After 2 weeks.
As Hidayah winded up her work for the day at office. She was ready to move before 6 as guided by someone. She had a smile whenever she thought of him. The miles did justice to their seperation but he was never out of her mind even for a second. But she decided to bury that love deep inside her heart which has no future ahead. Instead she decided on giving a chance to Arib. Breaking her reverie, she heard a land-line call of office at the reception.
"Hidayah, please have a look at it". Annie said to which Hidayah got up from her chair, taking her bag, she decided to check on the call.
"Hello Annie". She heard a voice she was longing to hear from 3 weeks. All the emotions which she had buried came knocking on her for the permission to enter. She gasped unable to say a word.
"Hidayah! Is that you? ". Asad asked finally unable to take the silence.
"Yes Assalamualaikum! ". She said but he felt that she was crying.
"You're crying? ". Asad asked out of concern.
"No. I'm okay". She said quickly wiping her tears.
"But tell me, why are you crying? Any problem at the office? Did anyone mistreated you? ". Asad asked again.
"No men here talk to me out of the fear of their boss". Hidayah said choking.
"That's good. They know the consequences. Anyways, how's everybody at home? ". Asad asked.
"Alhamdulillah and how are you? ". She asked him. She really wanted to know how he is doing there all alone.
"I'm good Hidayah, Alhamdulillah. Go home now and tell Annie to check the mails". Asad said.
"Okay".
"Okay! Assalamualaikum ". Asad said.
"Walaikumassalam". Hidayah said and the call got disconnected.
"Whose call was it? What happened to you? Why are you crying? ". Annie asked patting her back. Hidayah hugged her instead too tight that Annie got scared. In this 3 weeks, they have developed a good bonding.
"Was it Asad? ". Annie asked her to which Hidayah broke off from the hug.
"How do you know? ". Hidayah asked wiping her tears from the back of her hand.
"Your tears were a proof. You love him, don't you? ". Annie asked again although she knew Hidayah got engaged two weeks before.
"Yes Annie. More than I thought I do. I thought I'll manage here without him. But I still have the rest of my life to deal with. I guess it won't be easy". Hidayah put forth.
"He loves you too Hidayah. I have seen him getting nervous around you. He was so possessive about you that he had advised me to shift you to his floor when he saw the guys gawking at you on your first day at office. Know that nobody can love you more than he does". Annie said.
"please Annie. Don't make it difficult for me. I need to get stable before I get married. And in this way I'm not going to grow". Hidayah said.
"OK darling. I wont bring up this topic ever. But I really wished you guys together. Anyways, take your things. I'll drop you home. It's already 6.15". Annie said to which Hidayah nodded.
