Dally's POV
I seen a pretty smokin' girl make her way across the bar towards me. Usually I'd be licking my lips and preparing myself to flirt, but my mind was blank. I stared emptily at the girl with no desire to jump on her.
It frustrated me.
I need to get over this bitch. She's stupid for thinking I'd be loyal to her anyway. Not like she deserves it.
Thats a lie.
"No its not." I muttered to myself.
The girl stopped next to me and leaned her torso against the counter, dragging her hand across my shoulder.
"Hey," she said, leaning close to my ear so I could hear her in the loud atmosphere of the bar.
I brought my glass to my lips and took a long, slow sip, not even looking at the broad. She grew impatient as she watched me ignore her.
"Hello," she leaned in further. "Earth to smoking hot brunette who looks like he's here alone." She giggled.
I rolled my eyes and took a glance at her. She was holding a drink in her left hand and it was dripping condensation down her wrists. She had smearing red lipstick on and her hair done up big.
"I have a girlfriend."
She let out a scoff and set her drink down, pulling a stool to sit next to me. "Where is she?"
I set my drink down as well, "home."
"Why would a girl let her man go alone to an outing like this," she flirted, touching her fingertips to my hand. "See, if you were my boyfriend I'd be scared to let you alone. Too many girls have eyes that work."
I let out an annoyed snicker, "my girl isn't uptight."
"She seems fake," the girl huffed.
"Fuck off," I looked her dead in the eyes. "Im serious, you got 10 seconds to get the hell out of here."
"What happens if you get to ten?" She bit her lip as she giggled but it just made me mad.
I stood up, "oh, sweetheart, I've never gotten to 10."
She stood up as well. I took her drink and tossed it over the counter, into the sink, not even caring if the glass broke. She gasped a little and furrowed her eyes at me.
"You're an ass." She pushed my shoulder.
I grabbed her wrist and she tried pulling it away. She looked at me, fear coming over her eyes.
"One." I muttered, tired of seeing her.
She huffed and yanked her wrist away. "May wanna get your anger issues checked out."
"Eight, nine ten," I lost my patience and shoved her towards the door, pushing her past people. I opened the door and shut it once she was outside.
-
I held a mop in my hand as I watched a couple walk hand in hand down the long hallway. The guy had his lips to her neck and she was giggling as she tried to fish the room key out of her purse.
"Winston, why're you just standing there?" My supervisor walked into the hallway.
I looked at him, finally taking my eyes off the couple. I dipped the mop back into the bucket and began with the floors again.
"You're slacking, kid," he let out a huff. "Am I gonna have to cut your pay?"
"No-" I blurted. "No... I'm just, I'm going through a breakup thats all." I slapped the wet mop onto the floor, wiping it back and forth.
He ignored me and walked away. Once I heard his footsteps draw out I stopped mopping and leaned agaisnt the wall of the hallway. I stared forward at the opposite wall.
What's wrong with me?
Elena's POV
I sat in my bed and stared at the crumpled paper on the floor still. Something in me told me to get it before I lost it. I dragged myself out of bed and slowly walked across the carpeted floor.
Tony rubbed up against my leg and latched his claws onto the paper ball when I went to pick it up. I let out a small laugh and picked up Tony instead, rubbed his face and put him on my bed.
I picked up the paper and uncrumbled it, flattening it out on my nightstand. Tony meowed at me but I ignored him and stared at the paper.
"Elena, I'm sorry." I said out loud, reading the last line of the letter.
I felt tears form in my eyes so I set the paper down and picked up Tony, walking out of my bedroom to see if he needed food.
I set Tony on the floor and he meowed again. I smiled and scooped a bit of food into his bowl. He began eating so I walked to the couch and sat down.
I was suppressing my feelings of wanting to go see Dally. Its been so long since we've talked to each other. Far longer than we've ever gone. I stared at the TV screen though it was black and white fuzz.
Just go to him.
"I can't." I snapped.
You miss him.
"I hate him," I began tearing up yet again.
You love him.
"Shut up," a clenched my jaw and a tear fell down my cheeks.
"Are you talking to yourself?" Blake came from his bedroom.
I wiped my cheek quickly and stood up. I avoided eye contact with my brother and tried walking past him to go back to my bedroom.
He grabbed my wrist, "You're crying."
"No," my voice cracked.
He let out a sigh and leaned against the hallway, still holding onto my wrist. He waited until I looked at him. When I did, I broke down. I fell against him and he held me as I sobbed. I felt Tony rub up against my leg.
"I miss him." I said to Blake. "I know you don't like him but I miss him and I don't know what to do."
"He hurt you, El," Blake said softly. "He cheated on you."
"You don't think I dont realize that?" I pulled myself from the hug. "That doesn't change my feelings for him. It hurts, but I love him."
"Elena..." Blake reached for me but I wiped my cheeks and turned away. "El come on he doesn't deserve you."
"I know!" I turned and yelled at him. "He's an ass, he cheated on me. He's hardly even nice to me and he always gets mad at me for no reason. I get it, Blake but shut up about it, would you?" I walked into my bedroom and slammed the door.
