Dally pulled up to my house to drop me off. The curtains were open and I could see Blake and Sam on the couch inside. I looked at Dally and shook my head.
"Elena just talk to him." He unbuckled and leaned towards me. "Call me and ill pick you up if you get in a fight."
I looked away from him and seen the boys staring out the window at the car. I looked back at Dally.
"You don't understand, Dal. I really don't want to talk to him."
"Well go to your room then okay? I've gotta go to work tonight I can't keep you forever." He chuckled.
"Yes you can." I pouted.
He put the car in park and got out of the car, "come on El."
"I'll sleep in your car while you're at work." I crawled into the back seat. "He's gonna want to yell at me about Austin and you, and allowing Blake to get in a fight over me. It's gonna be brutal." I whined.
"The longer you avoid him the worse it will get babe." He chuckled. "Come on."
"No."
"Elena," he opened the back door. "You're gonna make me late for work."
"I'll wait in the car while you're at work, Dal." I huffed. "Im serious. I don't want to go inside."
"Is this what Austin had to deal with?" He laughed. "Elena he's your brother. You've gotta talk to him sometime."
"I hate him." I looked away. "Im not going inside."
Dally sighed and got back in the car. "I can put you in a hotel room while I clean, alright doll?" He glanced back at me. "You ain't sleeping in the car when I work at a hotel."
I leaned over the seat and kissed his cheek then climbed back into the passenger seat. I looked at the house as Dally began pulling off and Blake was shouting at Sam. Dally put his hand on my leg as he drove.
-
I woke up to Dally shaking me gently. I stared up at him which made him smile. He held his hand out.
"Im off work."
"What time is it?" I yawned.
"3am." He handed me my shoes. "I have short shifts on the nights I have school."
"We going to your apartment?" I looked at him and followed him out to the car without putting my shoes on.
He let out a sigh in the elevator but nodded his head, "yeah, Elena. I can take you home though."
"No." I shook my head and leaned into him as I yawned.
"Im doing a lot for you to just tell people we aren't dating." He huffed. "I don't care how long you've been broken up Elena."
"I do." I sighed. "Dally people think I used him."
"I'll kick anyones ass who has something to say about you Elena you know that." He lead me to the car and we got in.
I stared out the window. "Dally you slept with all these girls and everyone said 'that's just who he is'." I glanced at him but he just stared out as he drove. "But when I actually try to invest my time and feelings into guys I get called all these names."
"You've said this before Elena and there ain't a thing I can do about it alright?" He shook his head. "Ive apologized for what I did to you a bunch so there ain't more I can do."
"Just want you to understand." I muttered. "No one understands what I felt when my brothers told me that you cheated on me. Most girls quit after the first offense Dally. And... I don't know. I've tried to look past you."
"I don't want you to stop loving me." He glanced at me. "You're the only one that has, Elena."
"So why'd you go and fuck it up?" I stared at him. "Dally if im the only girl willing to show you love why did you hurt me like that?"
He glanced at me then sighed and looked forward again. He came to a red light and looked at me. "I don't have an answer."
"You don't have an excuse. I can tell you why you did it Dally." I sunk down in my seat.
"Okay Elena. Get inside my head. Why did I ruin the one good thing I had going for me, huh?"
"Because you never fucking loved me." I spat. "You loved how I treated you. You loved having someone to talk to, to lay with. But you never loved me."
"Shut up Elena. Thats not even true, alright?" He sighed. "I did love you. I just don't know how to show it."
"Bullshit, Dal!" I raised my voice. "You know damn well what you did was the opposite of loving someone. You did everything else right, you know that? Sure you were an ass to me sometimes and you were drunk off your ass hald the time but I never expected you to change your personality for me. And the good moments we had, Dal... they were amazing."
I pulled up to his apartment and shut off the car, "I don't want to fight with you."
I got out of the car and went inside, up the stairs to his door. I had to wait for him to unlock it. He turned me around and pulled my chin up.
"You said you don't want to fight." I muttered.
"I don't." He kissed me gently. "You're all I want right now Elena. But I don't want you when all you want to do is yell at me."
"I don't want to yell at you its just..." I sighed. "Its like you expect me to put all my trust in you again."
"Ive never expected you to trust me, Elena. I know I won't earn your trust back right now or maybe any time soon. But how can I start if you won't even be with me?" He wiped hair out of my face. "Im not trying to get you into bed, El. Or get revenge on anyone or show anyone that I can get you. I want you and I don't care who ive gotta mow over to get that."
I smiled a little and looked down, "boy are you soft."
He laughed and nudged me out of the way. He unlocked the door and we went inside. On the couch was Tim, King, and of course Curly. Curly grinned at us while Dally moved me to the other side of him and lead me to his room.
