I walked out of my 3rd period class and seen Anderson waiting for me by the lockers outside of the classroom.
"That's the kid you were dating?" He put his arm around my shoulders as we walked towards the cafeteria. "Geez Elena I thought you had standards."
"I dated you. Clearly my standards weren't high." I teased.
"You little shit." He laughed. "I talked to Winston."
"Yea? I thought you hated him."
"Just cause you started seeing him the second we broke up." He chuckled. "I don't mind him. Anyway he told me yalls whole story."
"Yeah?" We walked into the cafeteria and got in line. "Mention how he cheated on me a million times?"
"He didn't say it in that way, no," he chuckled. "Just said he fucked up and you'd be a fool to even forgive him."
"Damn right I would be." I sighed. "I don't know though. I know you don't want to hear this but Dally has never been off the table for me and Austin knew that."
"I don't mind hearing it, darling." He chuckled. "I rather be your friend anyway." He ruffled my hair. "Speak of the devil." He nudged me.
I glanced over my shoulder and Dally was walking towards us. He nodded at Anderson.
"Can I talk to you?" He asked me.
I picked up my tray of food and nodded, "yeah... let me put this down."
"I'll take it," Anderson grabbed it from me. "I'll be sitting with Blake."
"Thank you," I took Dal's hand and he lead me out of the cafeteria.
"You broke up?" Dally stopped and sat down in the hall.
I sighed and sat next to him. "Yes. At least I think so. We never said it but... yeah. Pretty much."
"Are you okay?" He asked. "And since when do you talk to Anderson Finn again?"
"Im fine." I nodded. "And he's nothing to worry about Dal," I looked at him. "You're the only one in the running anymore."
Dally smiled a little, "so can I kick Austin's sorry ass?"
I laughed a little, "Andy beat you to it."
"Of course." He looked at me. "So..."
I laughed a little, "We broke up like four hours ago calm down. We ain't jumping into things. My brother already thinks I'm a whore."
"I'll kick his ass too." He huffed. "Im tired of waiting for you Elena."
I stood up, "gonna have to wait longer, Dal."
"You kill me Elena." He groaned. "Why?"
"Its been four hours." I laughed. "I love ya, Dal, but you're impatient."
"Won't it feel good to see Austin get upset seeing us together though?" He walked after me.
"No it'll feel like he was right and make it seem like I was with him to make you jealous." I shook my head. "Behave yourself, Winston."
He grabbed my waist and pulled me against him, "why would I behave?" He muttered in my ear.
My heart skipped a beat. I haven't let Dally get so close to me in a long time. I spaced out for a second until he let out a chuckle, noticing how choked up I got.
He turned me around and nudged me against the cafeteria door. I stared up at him. Of course he was staring at my lips. I let my gaze fall to his lips as well, and man were my palms sweating.
His body pressed against mine as our lips met. His hand cupped my cheek and his other hand held my waist against his. He kissed me desperately. His hand combed through my hair and rested at the back of my neck.
The longer the kiss lasted the more he eased up. The first couple seconds was intense. Clearly he'd been waiting for it to happen. But by the end of the kiss he was kissing me slowly but still avoiding pulling away from me.
I smiled against his lips a little which caused him to smile as well. That ended our kiss and he just looked away.
"I needed that." He muttered.
I pulled him back in. I lead the kiss this time and wrapped my arms around his neck.
-
Anderson ran after me after school to catch up to me. I laughed and waited where I was standing so he could catch up. He threw his arm around my shoulders. "How's you and Dal?"
I glanced across the courtyard at Dally standing with Ponyboy and Steve. I looked at Anderson and smiled.
"We kissed but thats it."
"Well you never came back for your food at lunch. I told your brother you and Dal were probably in a janitors closet somewhere and he flipped on me." He laughed. "He didn't appreciate it."
I rolled my eyes, "I just hung out with him at lunch time. We didn't do anything we just... I don't know it was like we used to be."
"So... yall are back together?" He smirked.
"No. Still just friends."
He rolled his eyes at me. "Elena you made out with him."
"If I made out with you right now you wouldn't claim we are dating, right?" I laughed. "Austin and I just ended. Slow your roll."
"Speaking of." He motioned over to the right and we seen Curly walking over from where their group was standing. Austin looked in bad shape from Anderson fighting him earlier.
"Finn!" Curly shouted.
Anderson took his arm from around me to get ready for Curly. Anderson just laughed as Curly was angry.
"What do ya want, kid?" Anderson chuckled.
"You fucked with Austin-"
"No, Austin was being rough with Elena. I was protecting her." Anderson rolled his eyes. "Not like you'd know what being nice to a girl looks like."
"What, that slut couldn't keep a guy for any longer than it takes to learn to drive. What's the use in being nice to a girl like that?" Curly yelled at Anderson.
Before Anderson could even think to punch Curly, which trust, he wouldve. Blake had shoved me out of the way and did it first. I've never seen Blake get in a fight so I gasped. I didn't even know he was around.
I looked at Anderson and Dally was standing there too, seemingly about to do the same thing Blake just did. Dally and Anderson looked at me in shock but Dally jumped in to help Blake out. He's used to fighting Curly anyway.
Curly was doing pretty good fighting off both Blake and Dally, and I was shocked to even see Blake and Dally working together. But it didn't last long since Austin ran over, followed by Mark and Tito, and when those three jumped in so did Anderson and Steve standing by.
I stood in shock watching a little fight turn into an eight person rumble. Usually no one gets involved in a fight at this school. Not the teachers, not other students. But some of Blake's friends along with Ponyboy, Johnny, Two-bit, Eli and Kip started pulling everyone apart. It ended with yelling. Curly ended up storming off yelling at Austin while Blake sat on the ground wiping the blood from his nose.
