CHAPTER ONE — kyle

TALIA WOKE UP ON THE FIRST MONDAY OF HER FRESHMAN YEAR,meaning she was 14. Talia woke up, groaning as she didn't want to go to school like always. Her bedroom door swung open and Isaac stood in the doorway of her room, "Are you ready for school little sister?!" He asked excitedly. Talia groaned as her head was still on her pillow, "Why are you yelling?" She groaned. Isaac walked into Talias room and over to her bed. He yanked the bed covers off of her, he walked over to her and grabbed her ankle, and pulled her out of bed, "It's the first day of school, and I got football practice, and you have an art club meeting," he said. Talia sat up and groaned, "I'll get there give me a minute to get dressed," she said. Isaac smiled and walked out of her room and closed the door.
Talia got dressed in a black shirt and blue jeans with her black boots, and the Amber necklace her mother gave to her. She curled her hair and put her makeup on. She grabbed her backpack and her art portfolio, then she walked out of her room. She reached the kitchen where their dad was, "Ready to go?" He asked. Isaac and Talia nodded, since their dad was one of their school's teachers, they all had to leave early in the mornings. They all got to the school and Isaac went straight to the football field but Talia followed him instead of going to her art class meeting, "Why are you coming to the field?" Isaac asked. Talia shook her head, "Don't worry about it" she said. She walked to the bleachers and sat down. She looked out onto the field and spotted her friend, Theo.
Talia had always felt like she had feelings for Theo but didn't want to say anything about it. After morning practice Theo met up with Talia. He jogged over to her in his jersey, "Hey Talia," he said. Talia grabbed her stuff and walked over to him, "Hey dumbass, great practice," she said. He smiled at her and put his arm around her, "Aw I'm hurt carrot top," he said. Talia elbowed him in the ribs which made him take his arm off of her, "I'm not that much of a redhead," she said. Theo and Talia walked to their first class together. Talia was a bright girl, at the top of her classes, and every teacher's favorite student. Theo wasn't the brightest guy but Talia helped him with his school work.
Talia sat down with her two best friends Jocelyn and Beth, who are twins. Beth turned to Talia, "Ugh, when are you going to ask him out?" She asked referring to Theo. Talia looked between Jocelyn and Beth, "Are you kidding? Never" she said. Jocelyn's face contorted, "Why not?" She asked. Talia shook her head, "Because he is a really good friend of mine and I don't want to screw that up. Can we drop this conversation?" She asked. Beth and Jocelyn nodded and turned back around. Jocelyn turned around, "You should still ask him out" she said. Talia balled her fists up in anger and the lights in the classroom, flickered on and off. Talia relaxed her hands and looked at the lights. Right then the intercom came on, "Sorry students and teachers, the school just had a short circuit. We apologize for the inconvenience" the principal said. Talia exhaled.
