CHAPTER NINE — ultron

THE TWINS AND TALIA WENT BACK TO SOKOVIA. They walked through the streets, then Talia stopped and grabbed her head in pain. Pietro stopped and ran back to her, "What's going on Talia?" He asked. Wanda walked up to her and put her hand on Talia's shoulder, "What do you hear?" She asked. Talia looked up at the church, "Someone is in there and they're calling out to me," she said breathlessly. Talia took her hands off her head and they all walked towards the church. The three saw someone sitting in the chair, "Talk. And if you are wasting our time..." Wanda said. His hand was resting on his head, "Did you know this church is in the exact center of the city? The elders decreed it so that everyone could be equally close to God. I like that. The geometry of belief" he explained.
Wanda and Talia tried to look inside his head. But Talia was breaking through, she saw Starks system, "You're wondering why you can't look inside my head," Ultron said. Wanda's eyes were glowing red, "Sometimes it's hard. But sooner or later, every man shows himself," she said. Ultron stood and faced them revealing his new body making Wanda and Talia a little surprised, "Oh, I'm sure they do. But you needed something more than a man. That's why you two let Stark take the scepter" he explained. Wanda looked at Talia and held her hand, "We didn't expect it. But we saw Stark's fear, we knew it would control him, make him self-destruct" she explained. Ultron walked in front of them, "Everyone creates the thing they dread. Men of peace create engines of war, invaders create avengers, people create...smaller people? Uh...children! I lost the word there. Children. Designed to supplant them, to help them...end" he explained.
Talia tilted her head to the side, "Is that why you've come? To end the Avengers?" She asked. Ultron switched his attention to her, "I've come to save the world. But also, yeah" he said. Ultron then took the three back to the HYDRA base and into the place where all the weapons were, "We'll move out right away. This is a start, but there's something we need to begin the real work" he said. Wanda looked all-around at the bots, "All of these are... All of these are..." she led off. Ultron used his thrusters to fly over to a chain and he pulled it, "Me. I have what the Avengers never will. Harmony. They're discordant, disconnected. Stark's already got them turning on each other. And when you two get inside the rest of their heads..." he explained.
Pietro shook his head, "Everyone's plan is not to kill them," he said. Ultron flew over to them, "And make them martyrs? You need patience. Need to see the big picture" he said and landed in front of three. Pietro tilted his head to the side, "I don't see the big picture, I have a little picture. I take it out and look at it every day" he said while looking at Ultron. Ultron tilted his head to the side while looking at the twins, "You lost your parents in the bombings. I've seen the records" he said. Pietro shook his head, Talia knew he was becoming angry, "The records are not the picture," he said. Wanda looked at him, "Pietro," she said. Ultron looked between the twins, "No, please," he said.
Pietro looked between Talia and Wanda, "We were ten years old, having dinner, the four of us. When the first shell hits, two floors below, it makes a hole in the floor. It's big. Our parents go in, and the whole building starts coming apart. I grab her, roll under the bed, and the second shell hits. But, it doesn't go off. It just...sits there in the rubble, three feet from our faces. And on the side of the shell is painted one word..." he explained. Talia could feel his pain, she didn't like when either of them was in pain.
Wanda looked at Ultron with glowing red eyes, Talia looked up too with her eyes glowing orange, "Stark," Wanda said. Pietro nodded with a closed-mouthed smile, "We were trapped for two days," he said. Talia grabbed his hand and hugged his arm, "Every effort to save us, every shift in the bricks, I think, "This will set it off." We wait for two days for Tony Stark to kill us" Wanda explained. Pietro nodded, "I know what they are," he said. Ultron looked at Talia, "I've read your file, Talia. The most powerful being in the universe. I wondered why only you three survived Strucker's experiments. Now I don't. We will make it right. You and I can hurt them" he said walking towards the three. He looked at Wanda and Talia and put both of his hands up to their faces hovering over them, "But you two will tear them apart, from the inside," he said.
Ultron wanted to stay at the HYDRA base, Wanda and Pietro had noticed how Talia had disappeared. Pietro looked around and then looked at Wanda, "you go find her" she said. Pietro nodded and ran around the place trying to find Talia. He got onto the roof and saw Talia walking along the edge, "I can feel you lurking" she said. Pietro chuckled and walked over to her, "what are you doing up here?" He asked. Talia turned around and looked at him, "do you trust this whole thing?" She asked. He shrugged, "I don't know really. Ultron is going get us justice for our parents" he said. Talia nodded. Pietro brought his arms up, Talia put her hands on his shoulders and he picked her up, and took her off of the ledge, "what about you?" He asked.
Talia got out of his arms, "I used to idolize the Avengers. Then I realized they only fight for themselves and then they get the fame because of it" she explained. Talia walked away from Pietro, her powers started to show. She brought her hands up looking at her power, "I was nothing before this," she said. She turned around and looked at Pietro. With the fiery veins, glowing orange eyes, and floating hair. He walked up to her and put his hands on her cheeks, "But now look at you," he said. Talia calmed down and her face went back to normal as she looked at Pietro, "I still feel like I don't matter," she said. He leaned closer to her, "you do matter. To me and to Wanda" he said. Talia could hear his thoughts, they were loud, "I love you," he thought. Talia smirked, "You love me?" She asked.
Pietro knew she heard his thoughts, "Yes I do," he said. Talia smiled, "I love you too," she said. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and they pulled each other in for a hug. He was one of the only people that were there for her throughout the time she had been experimented on. Pietro pulled away and smiled down at Talia, "I really do love you Talia," he said. Talia smiled and nodded, "I love you too," she said. Talia let go of him and walked to the edge of the building again, "I can't wait to end the Avengers," she said smiling. Pietro walked over to her and hugged her from behind, "You will, with all the power you have. You could end the world" he said causing Talia to smile.
