A KNOCK WAS PLACED on the front door of the apartment building Tony and Talia found themselves in front of, "What if he doesn't join our team?" Talia asked standing next to Tony. Tony shrugged, "It doesn't really matter, but we need more hands," he said. After he had finished his statement the door to the apartment opened. A beautiful brunette woman greeted the two Avengers. She leaned against the door and looked at the two, "Hello! Can I help you?" she asked. Tony put on his playboy smile, "Hello, Miss Parker. I'm Tony Stark and this is my associate Talia Romanoff. We need to speak with your nephew" he said. May smiled and nodded her head, "Well Peter hasn't come home from school yet, but he should be home soon. Please come in both of you" she said. Talia and Tony walked in after her, "You can go ahead and find a seat in the living room," May said as she opened the oven in the kitchen. Talia sat in a single seat while Tony sat on the sofa. May looked at the two in the living room, "Can I interest you in a piece of walnut date loaf? It's fresh!" she said. Tony and Talia looked over at her and smiled, "I'll gladly have some thank you, Miss Parker" Tony said. May smiled and then switched her attention to Talia, "Oh no, I'm fine. Thank you very much though" Talia said with a smile. May nodded and began to cut a piece off for Tony and herself. She put the pieces on two plates and walked over to the living room and sat next to Tony. May looked over at Tony, "So what business do you have with Peter?" she asked. Tony shifted in his seat to look at her, "I'm so glad you asked, so I don't know if you knew this but your nephew applied to the September Foundation. I happened to see his application and I chose to do a little research, and I'm interested in working with him personally. That's why we're here" he explained. Talia nodded along with Tony even though she had no idea what he was talking about.

TALIA HEARD the elevator ding down the hall and footsteps walking up to the apartment door. Talia looked at Tony who was way too interested in his conversation with May to notice that the front door was unlocking and then opening. Talia turned her head to see an attractive brown-haired boy probably around 15 years old walking into the apartment, "Hey, May," he said. Talia noticed that he was too invested in the music in his headphones to even realize that there were more people in the room than just May, "Mmm. Hey. How was school today?" May asked shifting her position on the sofa. Peter walked into the kitchen, "Okay. This crazy car parked outside..." he said. His eyes widened when he saw Tony and Talia. Tony looked at Peter with his piece of the loaf in his hand, "Oh, Mr. Parker," he said with a smirk. Peter took out his headphones, "Um . . . What--what are you doing . . .? Hey! Uh, I'm--Im--I'm Peter" he stuttered as he crossed his arms over his chest. Tony nodded and pointed at himself, still with the loaf in his hand, "Tony," he said. Tony stretched his arm out toward Talia, "and that beautiful redhead over there is Talia" he said. Talia looked up at Peter and smirked at him. Which she could tell got him all flustered, "Very pretty," Peter said under his breath. He had hoped that Talia wouldn't be able to hear him, but she did. She smirked and looked down. Peter turned his head back over to Tony, "So what are . . .what are you--what are you doing here?" He asked a little shaken up. Tony put the loaf back on the plate, "It's about time we met. You've been getting my e-mails, right?" He asked. May looked surprised at Peter, Peter looked between his aunt and Tony, "Yeah. Yeah. Regarding the..." he said unsure.
