CHAPTER ONE - nonstop notices

TWO MONTHS HAD GONE BY. Steve and Natasha had broken everyone out from the Raft. Vision left when he heard that Steve and Natasha had broken Wanda out. Bucky was in Wakanda. The only ones left in the compound were Tony, Rhodey, and Talia. Tony and she had talked after the Siberia incident and worked almost everything out, but Talia knew that Tony wouldn't be able to forget the image of her out of his head, she made sure of that. Talia was currently lying on her bed with a book in her hand. The hardcover read, "The Butterfly Garden" by Dot Hutchison. Vision had given it to her just before he left. He knew she wanted to pick up a hobby to forget about all that had happened, so he decided for her. Her new hobby was reading. In the middle of one of the chapters, her phone chimed. She put her bookmark in the book and picked up her phone. She chuckled while shaking her head when she saw who texted her.

Webb-Slinger: Is there a reason
Happy isn't texting me back???

Probably bc you won't stop texting him 🤣

Webb-Slinger: Mr. Stark
told me to text him

Yeah... for emergencies. You're not
even supposed to be texting me 24/7.

Webb-Slinger: sorry are you
doing anything?

You interrupted me reading my book.
Aren't you supposed to be in school?

Webb-Slinger: I'm on my way,
wanna meet up after I get off?

Sure, text me when
you're almost done with school.

Talia smiled as she put her phone down and sat up on her bed. She stood up and walked out of her room. The halls were empty without the rest of the Avengers there. She didn't realize she had stopped walking until she looked up and saw where she had stopped, in front of her mom's room. She sighed looking at the door and gave it a sad smile then kept walking. She walked into the kitchen and saw Rhodey making coffee. She smiled at how walking has gotten easier for him, he's been able to move on his own recently and she was so proud of him. She jumped onto one of the bar stools,
"Hey Rhodey," she said. Rhodey turned around and smiled seeing her sit in front of him. He walked over to the table, leaned his elbows against the table and placed his coffee down,
"Good morning, Talia. How'd you sleep?" he asked. Talia sighed and shrugged,
"Fine, I guess. Still having the same nightmares," she said. Rhodey shook his head and took a sip of his coffee,
"You gotta ask Tony about those," he said. Talia shook her head,
"No, he wouldn't understand. He'd look at me like I was crazy," she said. Rhodey chuckled and turned around. Talia watched as he grabbed an envelope and turned back around,
"This was in the mail for you," he said handing the envelope to her. Talia recognized the pale yellow envelope and grabbed it out of Rhodey's hand with excitement and ran out of the kitchen into her room.
