CHAPTER THIRTEEN — sokovia

AND SO IT BEGAN. Talia and Wanda were watching as Thor and Vision talked. Their capes flowing in the window, "I feel like they're going to make out," Talia said making Wanda laugh. Pietro found a red leather jacket and tossed it to Talia and she caught it just in time. She looked at it and she knew it was Natasha's, so she put it on. Steve came around with coms earpieces. He stopped in front of Talia. Talia took the earpiece from Steve and looked up at him, "I'm not going to let anything happen to you," he said. Talia nodded and smiled at him as he walked away. They were all in the Quinjet, "Ultron knows we're coming. Odds are we'll be riding into heavy fire, and that's what we signed up for. But the people of Sokovia, they didn't. So our priority is getting them out. All they want is to live their lives in peace, and that's not going to happen today. But we can do our best to protect them. And we can get the job done, and find out what Ultron's been building. We find Romanoff, and we clear the field. Keep the fight between us. Ultron thinks we're monsters and we're what's wrong with the world. This isn't just about beating him. It's about whether he's right" Steve said giving his speech. Wanda grabbed Talia's hand and squeezed it gently. Talia looked up at her and gave her a closed smile. Wanda knew Talia could handle herself, she just didn't want her to get hurt.
Talia took one side of Sokovia while Wanda took the other side. They both used their mind powers on the people of Sokovia to get them to evacuate. Talia ran through the city to find where Wanda's location was when Pietro stopped next to her, "Need a lift?" He asked. Talia chuckled, "Desperately," she said. Pietro picked her up and ran to where Wanda was. Talia saw one of Ultrons drones shooting at Wanda. Pietro let her down and sped next to Wanda leaving Talia behind the drone. She walked up behind it and place her hand on the back of its head, the drone started to heat up and seconds later it turned to ash. Talia ran over to Wanda and Pietro, "You alright?" She asked. Wanda smirked at her, "I'm fine thanks to you," she said. The ground started to shake and the break. The city began to lift from the ground.
Talia ran tracking Steve's mind trying to find his location. Once she found it, she stood next to him and watched as the city was crumbling down on the people below. Steve looked at her, "Are you hurt?" He asked putting his hand on her back. She shook her head. Ultron's drones flew at Steve and Talia. Talia put her hand up and turned them to ash. Steve looked at her in amazement, "Remind me to be partnered with you on the next mission," he said, which made Talia chuckle. Tony flew past them, "Cap, you and Talia got incoming" he said. Steve nodded looking at Talia, "Incoming already came in. Stark, you worry about bringing the city back down safely. The rest of us have one job: tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt 'em back. You get killed, walk it off" Steve said on the coms.
