"Thank you for your hard work." The owner handed her an envelope and a drink as usual. Each time she came to deliver the documents she would receive a random beverage or snack from the menu.
Maybe that's why she always left this place for last.
"I'll be taking my leave then. Thank you for the drink." Iseul excused herself and exited the cafe. The mid-noon sun was unforgiving against her skin exposed skin, making her wonder why she thought an umbrella wasn't needed.
The universe really carved this day specifically for her to only see suffering.
She decided to take shelter at a nearby convenience store. She bought some prawn chips and sat by the air-conditioner. She enjoyed the iced americano she received earlier as she scrolled through her phone.
She recently started using her social media accounts again, but not to often. She would just drop by to like things and post things from time to time. She actually soft-blocked a lot of people somehow felt safer in the online space.
"Now that I look at it, all my recent pictures were taken by Yuta." She muttered, looking through her account.
"Manager!"
Iseul put her phone down and was surprised to see the two youngest of their team. "Shotaro? What are you doing here? Sungchan you too?"
"Shotaro and I were supposed to meet up with Donghyuck and Yukhei, but they're running late for some reason." Sungchan explained.
"We came here to eat lunch while waiting." Shotaro added. "Is it alright if we sit with you?"
"Of course! Grab anything you want to eat. I'll pay for it." Iseul offered, pulling out the envelope of money.
"Really?"
"Just don't tell your seniors or I'll never hear the end of it." She assured. "Especially Donghyuck. It would be a disaster if he found out."
The two were quick to disappear into the aisles and return with their chosen food. She handed them a couple of bills and waited for them to return. The two boys expressed their thanks and happily ate their food.
"Why did you guys only get little? Do you want anything else?" Iseul frowned. Their food was only a drink and ramen which made her worry. "Do you guys want dessert? I know they have some cakes."
"We're okay with this. We shouldn't abuse someone's kindness." Sungchan assured. "What's your job by the way?"
"Well I passed the exam for bookkeeping a while back and got a license so I'm currently doing bookkeeping for two cafes and a mechanic shop." She explained. "It's a bit complicated I guess?"
"Once I get a part time job I'll take you out to a meal too." Shotaro proudly declared. "I can't work at three places like you, but I'm sure I'll be able to buy you something good."
"I'll look forward to that." Iseul chuckled.
"You really are a great role model." Sungchan praised. "I wish I had an older sibling like you. I'd definitely bring you to the new amusement park. Sometimes it's just suffocating with my parents."
"Oh right, you guys are going to the new amusement park when it opens right?" Shotaro asked, earning a nod from the younger boy. "Isn't it nice to have a doting dad?"
"I wish I had a sibling period. I can only dream of my parents giving me one." Iseul chuckled. "By the way, which one of you is the snitch? Who told Yuta I was sick?"
The two boys immediately pointed at each other, making Iseul laugh.
"I was dragged into it by Sungchan believe me." Shotaro defended.
