"Where are you taking me?" Iseul wasn't sure if she should be excited or nervous with how secretive he was being. They were ten minutes into the ride and she still couldn't figure out where he was taking her.
"Disneyland."
Ah yes. when did he ever tell her his little surprises? It was always a game of question and answer when it came to it. She would still follow him and act surprised if she knew.
"Is this a Disneyland you found or did Renjun recommend it?" Iseul continued to quiz.
Yuta's tenth shrug of the day made her give up completely. She sunk into the comfort of the passenger seat and looked at everything but Yuta. Yes, she was sulking. If there was something she hated the most, it would be not satiating her curiosity.
Yuta glanced at her briefly and sighed. "Are you mad?"
"Yes."
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes."
"Give it fifteen minutes. I know you won't die from curiosity."
"For all I know you could be selling me to the black market!" Iseul continued to sulk, trying not to smile at Yuta's fake gasp.
"How did you know?" He gawked. A melodious chuckle falls from his lips and this time, Iseul couldn't help but smile. "We're almost there. I promise you it's worth it."
Iseul could only nod in defeat. She looked down at her hands, admiring the latest design she and Yuta worked on. This time, they tried their best to make butterfly wings to symbolize a new chapter in life. To make it more unique, she suggested that she put hers on her right hand so if they held hands, it would somehow complete the insect.
To their new beginnings.
In the distance, Iseul could vaguely make out the silhouette of a tower. She put her glasses on for a better look and saw the something sliding up and down the tower. It took a moment for her to recognize the other structures near it, and when she did, she could feel the excitement bubble in her.
"Looks like you realized where we're going." Yuta laughed. "We'll play rock-paper-scissors to decide who pays for what, okay?"
As Yuta predicted, they arrived at the amusement park within fifteen minutes. He put his hat on before reaching for Iseul's bag in the backseat. Iseul was already out and waiting for him to join her.
"You know, I should pick out your next bag since I'll be carrying it around. I'm not complaining about carrying it, I just don't think it compliments my outfit."
"Majority of the things in my bag are yours. All I have there is my wallet, glasses case, pepper spray, and emergency pads. You have your wallet, phone, airpods, charger, power bank, cord, and the list goes on." Iseul defended. Yuta couldn't even refute her claim and just nodded in agreement.
The two listed what they both wanted to ride and decided who would pay for their rides and who would pay for the food for today. Lady luck smiled on her today and she was to pay for the food, meaning she could choose what they eat for the day.
Iseul excitedly skipped towards the nearest ride with Yuta following just a couple of feet back. The physical distance seemed to be getting bigger between them as Yuta tried his best to keep up. Usually, he could keep up with her or even out walk her, but today was just a little harder.
"Bambi. Wait for me." Yuta dramatically called. Iseul turned and was shocked to see how big of a distance it was. While waiting, she realized he was still limping slightly. It was very subtle, more subtle than the last time she noticed it but still there.
