"We need to win our games this week to secure our spot in the top four for the quarterfinals. I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of it, but I will keep emphasizing that safety always comes first. If you feel like something is wrong, don't force yourself to keep playing. Are we clear?"
"Yes ma'am." They answered in chorus.
"Alright. If I've made myself clear, you guys are free to do whatever. Come back thirty minutes before your next game." Iseul dismissed them, watching them disperse.
"Did anyone see my wallet and phone?" Johnny asked.
Taeyong shrugged. "Maybe you left it in your car."
"Where's Jungwoo?" Mark asked, looking around.
"I saw him talking to someone from another school." Shotaro meekly answered. "It was by the showers... I think."
"Does it really matter anyway? Little rat is on the bench anyway." Daeun sassed, earning a glare from Sohye. "What? If I offend you say something bitch."
"We talked about this." Doyoung warned, flicking Daeun's forehead. The girl let out a huff as she crossed her arms. "You can hit her someday. Just keep calm until then, okay? I'll even hold her down."
"But still. Just her face annoys me." Daeun groaned. "It's like she was made for me to hit!"
"I'll break the security cams." Sicheng volunteered.
Iseul's eyes trailed on Sungchan. She prepared herself for a quick talk with him about their father. She even practiced with Yuta in the car, but now that her half brother was in front of her, she couldn't bring herself to say anything. The confrontation terrified her and made her doubt herself.
What would Sungchan say? Would his opinion of her change? Would he get mad at her? Or mad at himself?
"You can do it, bambi. He loves you like a sister anyway." Yuta's encouragement brought her out of her thoughts. She could only shrug in response, eliciting a sigh from her lover.
"Can I really do it?" She frowned, already growing teary eyed. Yuta took her left hand and put it beside his. They changed the design of their nails the night before into a lifesaver.
"I know you're afraid he'll leave. Remember what I told you last night. I can be your lifesaver when you find yourself drowning in it all. If he reacts negatively, we can't stop him or the hurt that comes after, but you need the closure." Yuta felt his assurance wasn't enough, so he planted a kiss on the back of her hand.
Iseul took a deep breath to calm herself down. She nodded, signaling she was ready. Yuta guided her by the hand towards Sungchan and Shotaro.
"Noona. Captain." Sungchan beamed. Shotaro smiled sweetly at the pair as he offered them some of his candy. Yuta gladly took one while Iseul had to decline.
"Can Sungchan and I talk in private?" She inquired.
"This is where we take our leave." Yuta mumbled, pulling Shotaro away from the two. He gave Iseul a big thumbs up before searching for Daeun and the others outside.
"Did Sungchan do something wrong?" Shotaro worriedly asked. "Am I next?"
"It's not that he did something wrong, it's their father." Yuta tried his best to keep it vague knowing Iseul didn't want anyone outside of the group to know yet.
"Their father?"
Speaking of group.
"Why did my bambi give me the hard part?" Yuta groaned. He turned to face the curious trio with a nervous look. "Well..."
