"You okay?" he asked
"Yeah, slight headache, there are too many people" Sky gave her a confused look over why someone would get a headache over the number of people in a crowd, however, Alex seemed to understand his confused look
"Mind fairy" she explained
At that moment Sky understood but he also realized the mistake he had committed before
'Does that mean she can read my mind?'
"Uh, yeah, sorry about that I can't help it" Alex answered Sky's inner question "it's alright, do you want to get out of here? This party sucks anyways"
"Sure" she smiled
"Okay do-"
"Hey, Sky. Can we talk?" A new voice interrupted Sky's and Alex's conversation, both of their heads turned around to see a smiling, fakely Alex presumed, Stella.
'Why is she talking to him?' Stella's thoughts almost screamed at Alex who slightly flinched at how high pitched that thought was
"Are you alright Alex?" Sky asked concerned as he saw the way she cringed at Stella's thoughts
"Yeah, I'll be outside if you need me," Alex said before starting to head out but as she was about to take a step she turned around to face Stella
"Your thoughts are so loud, damn. Chill dude" Alex shot at Stella who had a bitter look on her face as Sky laughed at her comment wondering what was going on in Stella's mind
"I haven't seen you all-day" Stella handed a drink to Sky who hesitated on taking
"Summer. Stella, all summer"
"You know that girl you were talking to, Alex? She's my suite-mate"
"So what does that mean, Stel? That I can't talk her?"
"I didn't say that"
"What are you saying, specifically? I'd hate to make you upset, I know what happens when you get upset" Sky said as he noticed the crowd forming around them
"I'm sure you'll do the right thing"
"I always do" Sky handed the glass back to Stella walking away to find Alex
While all of this was happening Alex had found a quiet place in the school's garden, she sat down on the grass and gazed at the beautiful sunset in front of her, and as she watched the sky little energy orbs appeared in her hand as she played around with them, passing them from hand to hand
Sky left the main building quickly spotting the silhouette of a brunette girl, he approached her and the first thing he noticed was the little orb Alex was playing with, he sat down next to her and as she looked at him Sky gave her a confused look gesturing to the orb.
"Oh, energy orb, sorry I make them appear when I'm bored" the orb in Alex's hand disappeared in thin air as she smiled at Sky who looked slightly down as his gaze fell upon the sunset
"Come on dude, you look like your girlfriend just dumped you" Alex gave him a little nudge as she laughed lightly
"It's complicated"
"Shit, sorry. I didn't know you two were a thing" Alex said referring to Stella
"We're not, it's..."
"Complicated?"
"Yeah" Silence fell upon the two teenagers as they started deeply at the last bit of sunset until Sky spoke again
"What about you?"
"What about me?" Alex tilted her head in confusion as she looked at Sky
"You and Nathan Gray seem pretty close" Sky was still wondering about what he had witnessed this morning in the specialist's hall, but as he was waiting for Alex's answer she started laughing
"Nate? No, no, nope. Never going to happen, never, no" Alex shook her head in disgust as she kept laughing
"Why not? He's a nice guy"
"Trust me Sky, not in a billion years I would even think about Nathan like that, never"
Sky was left somewhat confused over why Alex rejected the idea of her and Nate together but on the other hand, a part of him felt happy that she would never even consider dating him.
Alex sighed tiredly as she laid down on the grass looking at the stars, Sky followed her actions and laid down too.
"Pretty aren't they? The stars?" Alex questioned
"Yeah... I guess I've never really stopped to look at them" Sky thought out loud
"You see over there, that's Orion's belt. And that one is Cassiopeia, one of my favorites...."
