Almost two weeks had passed since the incident with Beatrix and everyone could see that things weren't the same as they were at the beginning of the year, Stella's mom removed her from the school which shocked a lot of people especially her friends. Everyone was on edge and the mind fairies weren't the only ones that could feel that something bad was going to happen sooner or later

Today was the of the joined combats where fairies and specialists got together in pairs to experiment with their abilities when put together in combat. Alex and Sky got paired together after Alex played a little trick to Silva's mind convincing him to put the two lovers together. Was it cheating? Of course but who actually cared

Right now Alex and Sky were back to back trying to fight a 'hologram' burned one, keyword being trying. Alex dropped to the floor in exhaustion, her energy completely drained from fighting the stupid training imitations, but she wasn't giving up

The mind fairy got back on her feet as the growling of another of the monsters was heard "how do we beat these things?" Sky sighed as he looked for the source of the growling

"Not entirely sure," Alex said

The burned one appeared on their left as it started running towards the two teenagers, Alex created some purple glowing chains holding the monster back as Sky ran up to eat and slashed its head off before Alex sent it back flying as one of her energy orbs hit the thing in the middle of the chest but apparently that just wasn't enough as the little fucker got right back up and ran towards the pair once again

"Oh for fucks sake" Alex sighed in desperation creating a force field in front of them before the monster could get to them making the burned one crash against the force field with a big 'bonk'

"Making progress but there's room for improvement" professor Harvey said as he made his way out the bushes

"Can we get a hint?" Sky asked

"Every failure brings you closer to success," the professor said as if this was some kind of poetry class

"Right..." Alex nodded sarcasm dripping from her words

"Inside each Burned one, there's a magical core called a cinder, and with time and finesse you can use your magic to destroy it but the key is mutual trust," Harvey said before walking away

"I hate Tuesdays" Alex brushed the sweat off her face with her sweater

"It's Thursday," Sky said trying not to laugh

"Same thing" Alex rolled her eyes

Meanwhile, Musa and Aisha were talking with the headmistress, "that would be attempt number nine for Alex and Sky with three successes and six failures" Aisha said

"He's frustrated and winded, she's mentally drained and both of them are starting to grow fatigued," Musa said

"Right,"

Most students went on their lunch break dreading the day to end, especially Alex who had placed her head on Sky's shoulder trying her best not to fall asleep at the lunch table, Alex's powers were great and all but they did drain the energy out of her like a magic vacuum. Sadly for Alex Sky had a couple more classes so she decided to follow along with her roommates and go back to her suite.
