"Maybe, so get used to it Blondie"
Sky tried to laugh but his smile faded shortly after the thoughts of Silva's possible death came back to him, Alex noticed his mood change without needing to read his thoughts.
"But seriously Sky, how are you?" Alex asked
"I feel shit, Lex. I know I'm supposed to be strong, but Silva basically raised me after my father died. They were best friends, I know we train to fight, to risk our lives, but I never let myself think that Silva..." Sky explained
"I'm so sorry" Alex placed her hand on top of Sky's intertwining their finger as Sky mindlessly brushed his thumb over the back of Alex's hand
"Are you close to your parents?"
"That's a tricky question... umm, not really, no. My parents aren't exactly the type to show too much affection, they're more about appearances and good imagery than they are about actually caring for their kids. That's why Nate and I grew so close to each other, we were our only company"
It was crazy to Sky how Alex could just talk about this like it was nothing, Sky didn't get to spend that much time with his parents but the memories he did have were good ones, the smell of his mother's cooking and how his dad used to teach him how to fight with wooden swords in his backyard when Sky was younger. He couldn't imagine what Alex had gone through, it was basically like she lived her whole life trying to live up to her parent's expectations without room for a normal childhood
"Maybe we should have a drink, I think we could use a little distraction" Sky suggested as Alex shrugged, alcohol wasn't her thing but she wasn't going to say no to a fresh beer at that moment
"Well, I did hear someone mention a beer pong if you want a big distraction..." Sky chuckled as he smiled devilishly
"You've just made a huge mistake" Sky stood up placing his hand in front of Alex for her to take "come on" he added as they walked through the crowd headed for said beer pong
About 10 minutes later Riven and Bloom decided to join the beer pong and now they were just trying to get the ball into the other team's red cups and to Alex's luck it just happened to fall into one of Sky's cups which meant he had to drink up
Yet karma got Alex back as the ping pong ball Sky threw fell right into Alex's cupThey were all laughing and chatting, and now, it was Bloom's turn to throw the ball
"We need this," the slightly drunk ginger girl said to her brunette friend
"You've got this"
And as the ball went in, Alex saw Bloom's eyes turn a fiery orange and the cup, where the ball had previously fallen, started to sizzle ever so slightly
Riven picked it up but placed it back down as he felt its temperature "this beer's hot"
"Did you-" the brown-haired specialist scoffed lightly
"Drink up! Them's the rules" Bloom laughed as Riven disgustingly downed the hot beverage
"Use your magic to bounce it up" Bloom whispered to Alex and as Riven threw the ball, which was definitely going to go in one of the cups, said cup moved to the right making the ball bounce onto the table instead of landing inside the cup
