𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 ( winx fate)

- 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐱 -

As her roommates started making their way out of the classroom Alex had already left, she used all her free time between classes to go see her brother, and from time to time give Sky a quick visit.

The brunette arrived at the greenhouse but Nate didn't seem to be there, instead, all Alex found was Silva getting treated by professor Harvey

"Alex, what are you doing here, shouldn't you be in class?" Silva asked the young girl in front of him as professor Harvey went to go get more bandages

"Um, we have a quick break between periods, I wanted to talk to Nathan. I thought he would be here" she answered

Silva was about to speak up but didn't get the chance as Sky entered the greenhouse. His hair was a mess, he looked paler than normal, he was wearing his usual training clothes, the bags under his eyes getting more prominent as the days without catching the Burned One passes  

"Alex?"

"Hey..."

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm looking for my brother, I thought he'd be here"

"Oh ok..." Alex was really worried about Sky, he wasn't sleeping well and even if Alex had probably slept about 10 hours this whole week it was still killing her to see the blonde boy like this

"How bad is it?" Sky asked Silva who was now slightly panting from the pain as Alex stood in the back quietly listening

"Is professor Harvey gonna up your Zanbaq dose? He said it'd keep the wounds at bay- "

"Until it can't anymore" Silva interrupted Sky mid-sentence 

"I can run the first-year spars. You take it easy until the battalion gets to the Burned One. What's the status?" As bad as Alex felt eavesdropping into the conversation she also wanted to know how the hunt for the Burned One was going

"Uh... They've tracked it 40 kilometers north of here. They'll engage it soon"

"And they're gonna-"

"I have every confidence they'll complete the mission. They will kill it. The only question is when"

"What do you mean?" Sky asked 

"The, uh infection is spreading quickly now. When it reaches my heart..."

"How long do you have?"

"I don't know. Not long"

"So what do we do?"

Alex had had enough of this conversation, she was completely breaking down inside and she didn't know how long she could keep the facade up which resulted in her quietly leaving the greenhouse leaving Sky and Silva talking

Alex let her body slide down the wall of the hall that led to the greenhouse sitting down on the floor before sighing letting her head rest on the wall behind her as she closed her eyes not letting her tears fall.

About 5 minutes later, Sky came out of the greenhouse and as he did, he instantly noticed Alex who was still on the floor thinking about all the outcomes of this situation something Alex found herself doing a lot of times when she had no control over the course of the circumstances

 As soon as the blonde's eyes landed on Alex's small frame sitting on the floor his heart ached, he had known the brunette for about a month now and his feelings towards her grew stronger and stronger each day to a point where all he wanted was for her to be happy.
