"Could everyone save the drama for the drama club" Alex heard Stella complain as she entered the suite, all the girls were in the common room looking at Stella who was sitting on the couch
"What's going on?" Alex asked as to why everyone had Bloom on their minds
"I'm looking for Bloom and for some reason, Stella's feeling guilty about it" Aisha explained
"Stella, where's Bloom" Terra questioned angrily as her mind went back to 'Ricky' the name which Alex still wondered about who the owner of the said name could be and more importantly what happened to her
'In the first world'
Alex read that thought clear as water "Woah, why is Bloom in the first world"
"Stay out my head Alex!"
"Look she was feeling homesick, so I did a nice thing and I lent her my ring so that she could return to the first world" Stella explained as Alex rolled her eyes
"Doesn't it only work outside the barrier?" Terra asked
"Yes, and there's a gate away in the old cemetery"
"That's deep in the forest Stella"
"You know what's out there right?"
Stella didn't say anything she just looked at Terra with an annoyed look as if she didn't know what Terra was talking about
'So the rumors are true... Burned ones?' Aisha thought
"You're kidding?!" Alex said to Aisha who gave her a confused look
"Right, you guys can't read minds"
"Not the point, you sent Bloom out there knowing Burned ones are on the loose!?" Alex almost yelled at Stella
"I, I- didn't know..."
"Of course you didn't" Musa rolled her eyes "we have to go get her"
They started leaving but Stella who looked back at her phone
"Oh and Stella? Careful not to get too tired as we fix your mistake" Alex told Stella, a hint of disgust in her voice as she turned around and ran to catch up with the others
The four girls all ran through the forest and made it just in time to see Bloom running out of a door as it closed behind her "are you okay?" Aisha checked in with Bloom who was still heavily breathing
"Yeah. Yeah, yeah I think so. What the hell was that thing?" Bloom answered
"It's called a Burned one"
"Huh?"
"Wait. Where's... Where's Stella"
"At school, she didn't want to risk breaking a nail" Alex answered sarcastically
"Why?"
"That thing just took her ring"
The five girls went back to the school and as they entered their dorm all of them decided it would be better to just go to sleep and talk about what had happened the next morning
Both Musa and Alex put on their headphones and headed to bed, but before they could Terra interrupted their moments of peace "so I know you guys want to listen to your music, and I, uh I totally get that, um, but we are stuck together for a while" she said gesturing to the room
"So..." Terra reached in her bag and pulled out what seemed like a black small speaker
'God no' Musa thought which made Alex laugh lightly but she didn't show it, not wanting to interrupt Terra's speech
"I borrowed this off my brother, it's a speaker, so we don't have to talk. You can be in your world. You just won't be alone in it" she finished, Musa and Alex felt bad for Terra but music in headphones was their only escape from other people's minds
"Or not, it's no big deal"
"Terra, that's not..." Alex ,who was laying down on her bed, her head on her hand, started. You see having to hear what everyone around a 50-mile radius thinks 24/7 can be exhausting and noise-canceling headphones is the only thing that helps Alex
"Don't be angry"
"I'm not" Terra answered but both mind fairies knew she was lying
"Can you stop with the fake happy bullshit for one second?"
"I'm a genuinely happy person"
"And I'm an empath and Alex a telepath, I can feel everything you feel while Alex can hear everything you think. Your anxiety with me," Musa explained
"Your insecurity with Stella" Alex joined the conversation
"And your anger right now, all of it, if not worse than you"
"Terra.. we put our headphones on to take a break from the world, from other people's minds, and just focus on ourselves" Alex sighed
"Trust me, you would do the same if you could hear what everyone is thinking every moment of the day for the rest of your life" she added
"But if you really want to know how I feel..." Musa connected her music to the speaker and with that, the three girls went to sleep in a peaceful state.
