"Anyways... how's your first-year girlfriend?"

"Alex?"

"Yeah, that one"

"She's not my-"

"You should probably tell Stella. I mean I'm no expert in relationships dude, but I see the way you look at her, man, and trust me when I say you've never looked at Stella like that"

Sky was silent and didn't even notice Stella who was sitting on a bench looking at her phone, "what do you think, Stel?" Riven asked the blonde girl who didn't even know what they were talking about"

About what?"

Sky who had now acknowledged Stella, sat down next to her putting his sword away and taking a seat next to her 

"Silva. How does he look to you?"

"Fine" Stella dryly answered before going back to her phone

"Dr. Stella coming through with a zero-effort diagnosis" Riven rolled his eyes, however, Stella ignored his rude comment and turned to Sky who had now noticed a familiar head of brown hair

Alex walked through the specialist's hall looking for her brother and as she finally spotted Nathan's familiar messy hair she started running up to him

"Nate!" Alex called after him when she was a few feet away from him, Nathan turned his head around just to see his little sister waving at him as she approached him

"Hey, toad" 

"Stop, calling me a toad Nathan Elijah Gray!" Alex laughed softly hitting the side of his arm. Alex tried to seem normal around Nate, even if inside she was hurting badly and she was extremely scared, but she had to seem strong in front of him

"Alright, alright no need for violence" Nate put his hands up in surrender laughing softly, and even if it caused him physical pain, seeing his sister happy was more than enough for him

While all of this was happening Sky was watching from afar feeling a tad of pain as he saw Alex's smile fall every time Nate looked away

"Sky!" Stella brought him back to reality, his head whipped to his head just to encounter an annoyed-looking Stella and Riven who was trying not to laugh at the blonde's facial expression "sorry, what?"

"Did you even listen to a word I said?"

"No, sorry I just... I've got a lot on my mind right now"

"I asked if you were training later or if we were hanging out before the party?"

"I um... Stella, I- Can we talk?" Sky couldn't do this anymore, he couldn't deny his growing feeling towards Alex and he knew he had to let Stella know how he felt, not wanting to keep leading her on, his sentiments for Stella were long gone and he didn't want to keep pretending like everything was okay.

"Um, sure" Both teenagers stood up and walked to a quieter space where no one would bother them "what's up?" Stella asked impatiently 

"Look, Stella, I can't do this anymore, pretend like the spark that was there a year ago is still there. I'm sorry Stella"

Stella went quiet for a second before she spoke up, even if a part of Stella wanted to yell at Sky for doing this to her, she knew he was right, "No, I'm sorry Sky, you're right. Breaking up was the right thing to do, we should've never gotten back together."

"We are codependent at best, toxic at worst." Stella placed her hand in front of Sky for him to shake

"Friends?" She asked, Sky smiled and instead of shaking her hand he brought Stella into a hug

"Plus, I see the way you look at Alex" Stella pulled away placing her hands on Sky's shoulders 

"Go get your girl Sky"
