i cannot even begin how much it annoys me when people think "you're not a real fan unless you were here from the beginning"

so firST OFF, THAT IS NOT FUCKING TRUE OKAY. YOU CAN FIND OUT ABOUT SOME BAND TEN YEARS AFTER THEY STARTED MAKING MUSIC, AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY LIKE THEIR MUSIC, AND APPRECIATE THEM AND LOVE THEM. THAT DOES NOT MEAN YOU ARE A FAKE FAN.

buT IF YOU ONLY STARTED LIKING THE BAND/ SINGER/ CELEBRITY/ WHATEVER BECAUSE THEY GOT POPULAR AND YOU DON'T GENUINELY LIKE THEIR MUSIC OR ACTING OR WHATEVER, THEN PLS STAHHP.

like if you found out about them cus they have a new rlly rlly rlly good and popular song, and you actually rlly rlly rlly like their music, and you don't just like it cus it's popular and other people like it, then no one has the right to call you a fake fan. just because you don't know what month, date, and second the singer was born does NOT make you a fake fan.

a fake fan would be if you ONLY like the singer or celebrity or band member cus they're hot and you wanna do the frickle frackle with them or some shit like that. or, if you say you like some book and you're the biggest fan but you can't name one quote?? stop right there. 

but then theres the people who are like "you're not a fan if you didn't read the book" tHIS IS NOT RIGHT EITHER. a person CAN be a fan if they watched the movie.

BUT some people, after they see the movie, they go call themselves "the biggest fan ever!!11!" even though they've never read the book?? and that pisses me off. okay? okay. ((gO ON COMMENT ABOUT THIS SPECTACULAR TFIOS MOMENT))
