As I slid into the desk next to Lexi on Monday, I internally rolled my eyes. I knew exactly what was coming for me, as those brown eyes peeked needily at me.
"Where did you go? You didn't even text me."
I know, I was being harsh in saying she was clingy. I wasn't the best boyfriend. But if she'd heard anything about me, she should know that I just wasn't the "boyfriend" type. I asked her out because I could tell it was what she wanted, although she said no at first. I knew it was what I needed to do to keep her around. Alexa was hot, albeit kind of a prude, and something about her was teasing.
I squeezed her knee. "Listen, baby," I told her. "I wanted to stay the night, really." This was true. But while she may have thought I wanted to cuddle, I had the thing on my mind I always did when she was around. I was immensely attracted to her, but I didn't love her.
"Its just, I had some family business to take care of." Blatant lie. I'd been with Marin. But, I put on a pathetic face, and watched her cute little face melt.
"I'm sorry, babe," she said, softly. "I need to learn to trust you." She seemed frustrated with herself.
"Hey, its alright," I told her. And it really was, because I couldn't care less about if she trusted me. But I seized her moment of weakness and snuck my hand farther up her skinny thigh, watching her face turn a pink.
"Reed," she hissed. "Wait till we're not in class, okay?"
I took my hand off of her jeans. "Listen. The teacher's not here yet. Lets skip."
Before she could answer, Marin walked in. There were puffy red circles around her eyes that couldn't be covered by make-up. She looked awful. Shame, because she was a pretty girl, hotter than Alexa, in my opinion, which is why I couldn't quit her once Alexa came around. Marin knew that, too. At first, she'd been okay with that, but last time we'd hooked up, Marin told me she didn't feel right going behind Alexa's back, so I dropped her. It wasn't a big deal, there are lots of available girls. And, I'm not trying to sound concieted (though let's face it, I am), but girls here kind of fall at my feet. Marin is easily replaceable.
The blonde pinned me with a hard stare, which I guess was supposed to bring on guilt. I find it so funny when girls try that. As if I care.
"I wonder what's wrong with her," Alexa said softly, something laced in her voice. Like, undirected suspicion. Does that make sense?
"Dunno," I replied dismissively. I grabbed her hand. "Come on." I led her out of the classroom. Maybe to a corner of our seldom used library? No one was ever there.
We brushed past Marin. As we walked by, she tilted up her chin, as if to say, "this isn't over."
A/N do you now get that reed is the human embodiment of a pig's balls?
Yeah. Same.
