You sat across from him, watching his every move, waiting for him to take a sip of his drink. But he never did.

***flashback***

He was busy in the kitchen, making sure that everything was in order. He didn't want his guest to be disappointed by the service he provided, now did he? You took this as your perfect opportunity to get rid of him once and for all.

You see, you came from a family of assassins, very successful ones at that. He was the biggest threat that your family had needed to deal with in the decades that the business had been running. No matter which one of you tried to do it, no one could ever kill him. You took this as a chance to prove yourself to your family. As difficult as it may be, you were going to kill him.

You hurriedly walked over to his chair on the other side of the long dinning table, and took a vile out of your pocket. This wasn't any ordinary vile. It was filled with poison, a special poison that your family created. A few drops, and whoever consumed it will be dead within minutes. But you wanted him to be dead as fast as possible, so you put the all of it inside his drink.

You walked back over to your given seat, across from his, and sat back down as if you hadn't moved an inch.

***flashback ended***

He walked back into the room as his servants brought out plates of food for the both of you, and took his seat.

Throughout the entire dinner, you noticed that he hadn't taken a single sip of his drink. Because of this, neither did you. It was too suspicious.

After you had both finished eating, he pushed out his chair as if he was about to get up, but stayed seated. You did the same.

He called out your name and used his fingers to motion for you to come over to him, and you did. You walked, cautiously, over to him and stood next to the table in front of him.

"Sit." he said motioning to his lap. Hesitantly, you did as he asked, and sat on his lap.

"Y'know, this is my favorite drink. Usually, within minutes a few glasses are gone, but not tonight. Guess it wasn't a drinking night." He took a quick pause before continuing to trail on, "I noticed you didn't drink anything throughout the dinner. You must want a drink." As he said the last sentence, he picked up his glass and sauntered it in front of your face.

"I guess I wasn't too thirsty." You responded to him, declining his implied offer.

"Well then you must be parched by now. At least have a sip." He was being stubborn, as if he'd die if you didn't take a sip of this drink.

"I'm fine really." You turn your head away from him and, the drink, wanting to make it clear that you weren't interested.

He grabbed you face by your chin, and forced you to look back at him. "I insist." He put the glass up to your lips. "Drink."

You had no other choice, so you did. Only a small sip, but with the poison in it, you'd still be dead in minutes.

"There you go." He said, still not letting go of your face.

Just as you swallowed the drink, he pulled your face closer and pressed his lips to yours.

"Now, I'm poisoned too. You made it quite obvious with how you were eyeing my glass all evening." You were shocked that he found out, but didn't say anything. You didn't want to waste your breath in case it might be the last one. "Antidote is in the kitchen." He said as he took you off of his lap.

You walked into the kitchen, him following right behind you.

I'm sorry if your request is taking so long to finish, but school is killing me and we start finals this week and go through to next week, so I'm lowkey dying. I do apologize, though, because I am still working on those. For now, here's this short story that I wrote weeks ago and forgot about.
