(Lets just pretend that Otis and Ola didn't break up)

Maeve's POV

Todays the day. The day that Otis Milburn gets married. I've been wanting to avoid this day forever since it wasn't to me. He was getting married to Ola, and I'm extremely happy they're happy. I just wish that I was taking his last name instead of her. But I was too late.

I arrived at the venue early to help set up and get Ola ready. She asked me to be her maid of honor since she knew how close we are.

"You look stunning!" Ola exclaimed as I walked through the door of her room. She was still in a robe sitting on the bed.

I was still pretty upset so I just responded with "Thanks. You'll look amazing in your suit. You're marrying a really great guy, you know"

"Yeah, I know." She said after a while. "Look, I know you liked him, and want you to know that I'm sorry. I still feel kind of terrible for it."

"It's no problem. I'm pretty sure Isaac likes me, anyways. I might give him a shot."

"No hard feelings?"

"None."

This is it. We were waiting for Ola to walk down the aisle. Otis looked perfect in his suit. He was already starting to tear up and he hadn't even seen her yet. If only his tears were for me.

We had already gotten through the vows and everything, now was just the kiss.

"You may now kiss the bride!" the priest announced, and with that their lips locked together.

At that moment, the tears I had been keeping inside had slipped out. The other bridesmaids were crying too, so it didn't look too strange. Thank god.

*Time Skip*

I was sitting in the corner at the reception with a drink in my hand. Otis and Ola were in the middle of the dance floor dancing. I couldn't stand to see them like that, so I put my drink down and walked into the hall.Otis must've notice because five minutes later he was outside with me.

"Hey. Are you okay? I saw you walk out." Otis asked

Seeing him hurt seeing him so worried. "Yeah I'm fine. Just needed a break from all the people." I lied.

"I know you better than that. Whats wrong?" Dammit. He can see right through me.

I hesitated. Should I ruin his big day like this. Before I could stop myself, the words came out.

"No I'm not fine Otis. I've loved you since we were 16. I know you and Ola are and will be happy together, but it hurts to see that you never loved me back." the tears came back, and were pouring out now.

"Maeve I-" he tried, but I wouldn't let him.

"Im so sorry. Its your wedding day. I shouldn't have said that. Sorry" I got up and ran out. I couldn't stay anymore. I wiped the tears and walked out. "I still love you Otis Milburn. I was just too late."

What I heard as a ran out broke my heart even more.

"I have always loved you Maeve Wiley"
