Augustus Waters stood at the grave. Yes, THE grave. Hazel Grace Lancaster's grave.
He looked at her headstone reading the words through red, puffy, blurry eyes for the hundredth time.
It read "Hazel Lancaster. She went down with a fight. Unfortunately, cancer won."
Gus sat down next to the headstone.
"Hey Hazel Grace. I miss you. I still love you. Life's harder without you around. I guess you were right. Death truly is inevitable. I can't take this anymore." He says, tears rolling down his cheeks."I need to see you again."
Gus reaches into his pocket to get a cigarette. He puts it into his mouth. Only this time..
He lights it.
