"Honestly y/n I don'y understand why you still listen to him. He's a stupid git who's been treating you like this since first year." Ron said walking up to you after seeing what had happened.

Right behind him followed Harry and Hermione who nodded their heads in agreement.

"It's fine. I've gotten used to it by now. Really." You responded to them, hoping they would drop it.

"I swear, Malfoy has some weird grudge against you. He doesn't even bug me that much." Harry pointed out, as usual. He made it a point to tell you that every time you and Draco had finished arguing, which was quite often.

You see, what had happened was just a stupid argument. The same one you two always had. Draco would walk up to you, call you the usual mudblood, ask the dumbest questions, and prance away with his little minions following right behind him. Same as always.

It never really bothered you though. He'd done ever since you got sorted into Slytherin in your first year at Hogwarts and he's done it ever since.

"I am in the same house as him, so it's not like it's ever going to stop."

Truth be told, you knew that Draco wasn't as bad as he had seemed to your friends.

To them, he was this privileged little prick who had a remark to say about everyone he ever crossed paths with.

That's how the Golden Trio met you. They had seen you crying in the corridors after hours and consoled you. They told you about what happened between Harry and Draco that night and why that's why he must've been extra rude to you. Since then, you guys have been best friends.

But again, Draco's not as bad as he seems. There have been many times that you caught the occasional smile on his face seeing that he passed one of Snape's exams. Not his usual sarcastic smirk, but a genuine smile. You've even heard him laughing with Crabbe and Goyle in the Slytherin common room after hours while you were doing homework.

Your guess was that when he thinks he's not being watched then he's actually a pretty decent guy.

There were also times where you caught him staring at you. Not in a weird or rude way, but in a spaced out kind of way. He always had the same deadpanned expression when you'd catch him doing it. He was never zoned out. He was always actively listening to the teacher and would immediately turn his head the other way when you caught him.

Come to think of it, you never really questioned why he did that until now.

"Whatever. We really should be going now if we wanna have a chance at being on time to class." Hermione said, snapping you out of your thoughts.

"McGonagall wouldn't be happy if we were late to her class. Again." you responded, ready to be done with this conversation anyways.

*****

Later that night, something was keeping you from sleeping, so you decided to walk around the quiet corridors. You would like to be able to say that you don't know what was preventing your sleep, but you knew exactly what it was.
