*How have i never written any anime stuff oh here?*

Karasuno had just finished playing their final game at nationals. They didn't win, but they made it pretty far. The team was disappointed, of course, but were still proud of how far they had come since the start of that season.

One certain redhead has thrilled that they even went to nationals, still. He was on his way to find his partner in crime to tell him that their bus was waiting. Hinata had found Kageyama's bag outside of the bathroom so he figured that he was in there. He waited outside the door for Kageyama, but after a few minutes he was getting worried.

"Hey Kageyama, the bus is wai-" Hinata said as he walked through the door, but he silenced himself as he saw Kageyama against the wall kissing Oikawa. "O-oh sorry," he spurted out as he rushed out of the bathroom.

Kageyama rushed after the boy in hopes to catch up to him. Hinata was a few feet ahead of him, though, as he had ran out too. He didn't know why that scene bothered him so much. Him and Kageyama weren't dating or anything. He'd be lying if he didn't admit he had feelings for the grumpy player, he just hid them under his usual energetic appearance. Hinata just didn't know why the scene bothered him so much.

Kageyama had finally caught up with the shorter boy.

"Hey dumbass, wait up," he said while panting, "Sorry, I hadn't realized how long I was taking." It wasn't until he looked up that he saw the sad expression in Hinata's face. "What's wrong? You look sad."

"Nothing. I'm fine," Hinata replied, obviously lying, "We better go catch the bus." He waked off before Kageyama could say anything.

On the bus ride back, Hinata sat on the opposite side of the bus from Kageyama, trying his best to avoid him. He had plugged in his earbuds to block out noises and within an hour, had fallen asleep.

He was awoken to Nishinoya slightly shaking him. "Shoyo, wake up. We're back home."

Hinata grabbed his backpack and walked off thanking Noya. He was walking towards his bike when he was pulled behind a corner by his wrist. The boy didn't have much time to react, but soon looked up to just to see his setter.

"Okay dumbass, what was wrong with you earlier?" The boy asked.

"I told you, I'm fi-" Hinata tried to explain to Kageyama, but was cut off.

"No. Don't lie. What's wrong with you?"

"I just didn't mean to walk in on you two. That's it."

"No it's not. You walked in on Daichi and Sugawara and you were fine. Why is Oikawa and I any different?"

It took Hinata a while to think of a response that wouldn't force him to out his feelings. Eventually he just ended up replying with, "I just didn't know you two were dating. That's all."

"Oh." was the only thing that Kageyama could say.

They say there in an awkward silence until Hinata spoke up and asked "How long?"

"What?" Kageyama replied, not understanding.

The shorter volleyball looked down to hide the tears threatening to fall from his eyes. "How long have you and Oikawa been dating?" he stated.

"Oh. About seven months. Why?"

"No reason." the tears had finally fallen from Hinata's eyes. "I gotta go. I'll see you tomorrow Kageyama." With that he rushed off before the could hear whatever it was that his setter had to say.

Kageyama went through the rest of his high school years dating Oikawa.

Hinata was still hung on Kageyama, but was slowly getting over him. It didn't help that he had to see him everyday during practice, though.

***(Time skip to college)***

Hinata was now over halfway through his first year in college. He had finally gained the skills at volleyball that he had worked so hard for. He even moved on from his high school crush with the help of his current boyfriend, and setter, Atsumu Miya. He was happy with his life now, and didn't need Kageyama to depend on anymore.

Meanwhile, Kageyama was also over halfway finished with his first year of college. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same as Hinata's. It was it's rival.

He was no longer in his relationship with Oikawa, though. They broke up due to distance and schedules. It just caused too many issues.

He was fine at first, but after a few weeks Kageyama started to miss having someone to laugh with. Someone who understood him and accepted him. Someone to talk to and who would care. Not just his boyfriend, but more importantly, his best friend.

One face popped into his head almost immediately.

Hinata's.

Kageyama thought back to when they were in high school. Since graduation, they had lost touch and stopped talking. He remembered how close they had become since meeting in middle school for the first time. He remembered their awesome quick attack they had created. He remembered every happy memory of them together. One memory stuck in his head, though. The day that Hinata found out about him and Oikawa.

He realized that Hinata was upset because he had feelings for Kageyama later in life. He hadn't realized it until then, but he also had feelings for the shorter redhead. And still did.

Having these feelings be resurfaced inspired Kageyama to look through things about Hinata since he knew there would be articles of this tiny hitter. He was mainly looking for details on relationship status in hopes of redemption.

He wasn't ready for the truth, though. He had found multiple articles on the new semi famous couple of Shoyo Hinata and Atsumu Miya.

Turns out Kageyama was four years too late.

He just hoped that Hinata was finally Happier......
