Worried Sick - Ron Weasley (Request)

First year - Ron and Harry had needed to play the giant game of chess. Of course, the horse Ron happened to be sitting on just had to be knocked down and shattered. When you heard from Hermione what happened to him, you immediately headed straight to the hospital wing. He was fine, luckily, but you didn't leave his side unless Madame Pomfrey forced you to. Ron honestly wasn't complaining.

Second year - Again, Ron and Harry had to go on some weird adventure. This time, it was stealing Ron's dad's car. In that incident, Ron broke his wand. Somehow, he came to the conclusion that it was still useable. Boy was he wrong. He somehow managed to almost use the Oblivio curse on himself. Yeah, from that day forward, you made sure you were with him when he had to use that wand. Not that you were complaining, though.

Third Year - Ron got attacked by Whomping Willow and broke his leg. You stayed back in normal time with him while Harry and Hermione went on to change the past. They offered you to come with them, and even said they would probably need your help, but you declined the offer. As much as you wanted to go on and help them, you knew it was better to stay with Ron. He was still in a bit of a shocked state, so you stayed with him while his leg healed. Kind of like back in your first year. Neither of you were complaining.

Now, you were in your sixth year at Hogwarts and Ron had still managed to get into dangerous situations like those. Every. Sing. Year. and every year, you would stay there with him, whether it be in the hospital wing or staying with him when he fights with Harry or Hermione.

He recently made it on the Gryffindor quidditch team. You had gone to see all of his games before, and he always did amazing. You were never actually interested in quidditch before, but you were willing to spare a few hours to watch Ron play.

In fact, Gryffindor had just won a quidditch game yesterday. The entire house was still celebrating at breakfast the next morning. Everyone was caught up in their own conversations about it, and you could overhear all of them.

"Did you see Weasley out there yesterday?"

"Man, Weasley sure is a great goal keeper."

"It must run in the Weasley family for quidditch."

Comments like those made you smile to yourself. People were finally seeing what you've seen in Ron ever since you guys were eleven.

You were reliving you and Ron's moments together when Harry pulled you out of your thoughts. "Hey Y/N, can I talk to you for a moment?"

You looked at him confuse, but still responded. "Yeah sure. What's up Harry?"

"Ron was poisoned last night. He's in the hospital wing right now."

"What?" You were shocked by Harry's words. Of all the things Ron had gotten himself into, you'd never think he'd get poisoned.

"I figure you'd want to know. You can go see him now if you want. I'll go with you."

"Thank you, Harry. Let's go." With that, you and Harry went off to the hospital wing.

Once you got there, the first thing you saw was Ron laying there unconscious with Hermione sitting next to him. She looked up at you and Harry and stood up once she heard footsteps.

You sat next to Ron just holding his hand as you watched him breathe, hoping he wouldn't stop breathing. Eventually everyone started to leave, and Madame Pomfrey let you stay as over the years she learned that almost nothing will make you leave.

It was about midnight when you saw Ron had slightly woken up.

"Y/N?" He asked, confused as to what had happened.

"Ron! You're awake I was so worried!" you said gently hugging him as he sat up.

"You've been here all day?" That was when he noticed how dark it was outside and that classes were certainly over.

"I couldn't leave you here alone. I do care about you y'know."

"You didn't have to stay here, though."

"But I wanted to."

"Oh, well thank you. I care about you too by the way." He laughed out that last sentence, trying to defuse the awkward tension.

"I thought you were gonna die. I'm glad you didn't." You didn't know why you blurted that out, but you did. You were just speaking your thoughts.

"I wouldn't leave you behind like that. I'd never want to." The last few words kind of stunned you into silence. What could he have meant by that?

He took that silence as a chance to continue speaking. "Look, I like you Y/N. Like a lot. And I know that you probably don't like me back, but I needed you to know that. Seeing as I almost died today, I knew I needed to tell you that before I actually do die."

"Ron-" you tried to speak out, but he cut you off.

"No, I know that you don't feel the same way. I just needed you to know how I feel."

"Ron I do like you. I have for a very long time. I never said anything because you always seemed so close to Hermione." And that was true. You always assumed that he and Hermione had something going on due to close they were.

"Hermione? No. She's my best friend," he reassured you. "Besides, she and Harry are dating." 

Huh, you had never noticed that before.

You both laughed at your sudden realization. 

"Y/N," he continued, "will you be my girlfriend?"

"Of course I will." you responded, a giant smile plastered on your face.

Despite his little incident with poison, he still got into many more dangerous situations that almost cost him his life. But every time, he kept his promise, and never left you.

Every time, though, you were still worried sick.
