Christmas With A Felon (Starkey)

Merry Christmas!!! And happy holidays to those who don't celebrate!!!! Hope you all stay safe this holiday season!!!!

You woke up to the same view that usually welcomed you to another day; the gray, almost black, color of the caves walls. 

As you stood up, you stopped for a split second as you saw something that you hadn't seen ever since you went AWOL, snow. 

It was snowing outside, and your spot in the front of the cave gave a perfect view to you. A sparkle could be seen in your eyes as you watched the snowflakes fall and Starkey had just so happened to catch a glimpse of it before you came back to your senses.

"Pretty, isn't it?" Starkey said as he put a hand you your shoulders.

You didn't even bother to look up at him because you didn't want to tear your eyes away from the scene, so all you did was nod.

"We can sit here and watch it all day if you want to." He suggested.

"But we have an attack planned today." you said, finally looking at him. "For the next harvest camp."

"They  have an attack planned for today. We don't have to go."

"You're our leader, Mason. You have to be there."

You saw they flash of pain in Starkey's eyes at the use of his first name, but he ignored it and went on to speak. 

"Bam is more than capable of leading them."

"People will be suspicious." To anyone else this wouldn't have seemed like something that should be cared about, but to you and Starkey it was. 

See, you two had a secret thing going on. You guys weren't dating, but you weren't not dating either. You just a "thing".

Neither him not you wanted people to know about this since there were so many people out for his death. Starkey was afraid that one wrong move and it would put you into danger. Also he currently had three girls pregnant within the cave (pre "thing"), and they were the LAST people who needed to know about this. Therefore, no one knew.

"I can make up some bullshit excuse. No one will question it." His words brought you back from your thoughts.

"Okay, then. If you insist." You said with a smile tugging at your lips.

"Alrighty then." he said slightly smiling back at you. "I'll see you later." And with that sentence, he walked off.

Later that night, all the other storks were long gone to their attack with Bam as their leader and the three pregnant girls had been sent on some stupid "mission" Starkey had given them.

You two sat on the edge of the cave entrance, careful not to fall off of the edge, and just watched as the snow fell.

You had the same sparkle in your eyes as you had when you originally saw the snow that same morning. You were so focused on it you didn't even notice Starkey put his arm around you until he pulled you closer to him. 

You two just sat there like that all night, Well, until the other storks came back and started bombarding Mason with intel on their mission. At that point, you had blended in with the crowd, as if you had went too. 

Little did you know, you had just spent Christmas with a felon.
