Forty:- A Scoop Deadass Rivalry

Anger was an understatement for Nathan when Jadrianne responded rather than pulled away from the hug. "Zan."

Displeased with the scene, Nathan pushed Zan by the shoulder while he grabbed Jadrianne's arm and held her possessively to his body. Zan didn't stumble despite the hard push, but his face was laced with surprise. "Nathan?" He tilted his head in confusion.

By now, everyone who knows of the Demon Nerd Nathan was anything but calm but for once, he was silent. However, the eyes never hide the truth of one's true feelings; Nathan was livid. Without even a huff, Nathan walked away from the cafeteria, dragging Jadrianne along with him. Once they were out of sight and earshot, Nathan released Jadrianne from his grip.

Nathan's back was facing her so, she couldn't see what face he was making. What she did know was he didn't like Zan hugging her.

"That was quite the exit. Are you okay? You can tell me." She asked as she took a step closer to him.

"Okay?" Nathan repeated as he turned around. He went closer to her until their feet were touching. Jadrianne's moss green orbs matched with the taller's amber ones. The memory of Zan and Jadrianne replayed in his mind, causing him to ball up his hands into fists.

He leaned down to her, inches away and stressed, "I'm jealous when other guys talk about you, look at you, and I especially hate it-". His jaw clenched. "When they hug my girlfriend. Do think I am just okay?"

He admitted it. Jadrianne realised as she stayed quiet.

"You know him." It was a statement. Jadrianne stayed quiet which only irked him more. "Damn it! If I knew, I wouldn't have put up with that guide shit with that walking white-haired crisis," he grumbled and kicked the ground.

Instead of saying words of defense to comfort him, she just asked, "Are you sulking right now?"

"Huh?"

"Wow, you really are sulking." She chuckled, clearly intrigued.

Red hues smothered his ears as he yelled, "Shut up, you delusional duck!"

Before he could yell any more colourful words at her, she silenced him with a soft kiss. The male stiffened at the contact, but his body melted after a while, soon enough, responding to the kiss. He's weak to her lips.

Jadrianne pulled away and placed a hand on his cheek. "Zan's-"

Nathan scowled at the name, but Jadrianne continued, "I know him, yes. We've known each other since we were kids back when . . . I was with my mother." She looks up at him. "We're nothing, I promise, Nate. You're my boyfriend."

At the mention of her mother, the brunet visibly relaxed at her words, leaning his cheek against her smaller hands. Jadrianne smiled a little at the action. "Are you calm now?"

Nathan nodded and wrapped one arm around her waist to bring her closer to him. He had a gut feeling that he may have slightly hit a small nerve when she softly mentioned her mother. He decided to let his anger subside and focus on just being together. He too knows that if someone were to put him in a situation where he was reminded of his mother, he'd feel anxious.

"Whatever," he grumbled, "Don't cry or something. I'd hate getting my shirt wet." Despite what he says, his grip around her says otherwise, resulting in a chuckle from her.

"Why do you always attract weird guys?"

"That would include you too, you know?"

He scoffed, "I'm your boyfriend. That's different."
