Five:- Like It Or Not, I Have To

"Ah, I'm so tired," Bladen said as he stretched.

Nathan went to put his apron in the laundry basket which one the staff will take the dirty uniforms to wash at a nearby 24-hour laundry shop.

"You're just getting old, Blade," Nathan stated as he unbuttoned his uniform to change into the casual clothes he brought. Bladen swiftly turned around and stomped over to the teenage boy. "Hey! I'm only three years older than you! Pay some respect, kid!" Bladen said, irritated as he jabbed his pointer finger against Nathan's back.

"Hey! That hurts!" Nathan barked as he harmlessly slapped his colleague's hand away. Meanwhile, Manager Enrique watches his employees with an endearing gaze and chuckled at how they get along. "You guys are so lively! Now, get on home! You two got to school and college tomorrow!" He said as he gave them a side smile.

The two guys nodded and changed into their casual clothes.

"See ya again at work, guys." Nathan said as he opened the backdoor.

Ah, I can't wait to get some sleep, man. Nathan thought as he imagined being in his bed. "This place is a peace of mind than my crappy school that's full of annoying flies." He muttered to himself as he closed the backdoor.

"Interesting," a voice spoke making Nathan look over his shoulder, "didn't know demons could have normal jobs too."

All the fibre in Nathan's body just made him freeze as his grip on the doorknob became tighter. Just as he mentioned about not wanting people from school to know his workplace, he just had to hear that word here.

Worst of it all, among anyone from the school, it had to be her. Standing in front of him who looked like she just happened to pass by, stood there looking at the teenage guy who stared back like a deer caught in headlights.

"Jadrianne Clarke?! What the hell are you doing here?!" Nathan exclaimed in shock and panic. Right before his eyes, he jumped into his all-time nightmare and his newfound nightmare in just one night.

The dark-haired with red streaks girl only stared at him with an unreadable expression. Nathan, on the other hand, looked as if he had seen a ghost. "I didn't know you could even have a part-time job." She said as she just tucked her hands in the pocket of her jacket.

Snapping out of it, Nathan gritted his teeth in irritation. "What's that supposed to mean?!" He shouted. Jadrianne only shrugged. "I thought the 'Demon Nerd'," she quoted, "only knew books and not labour."

Nathan found her comment a mockery to him. "Shut up, tree girl! Me having a job is none of your business!" He spat as he turned to the side to walk off. He heard her hum as if she was thinking behind him until he heard footsteps. "Hey! If you're going to laugh at me, go somewhere else! Following me won't do you any good." He shouted.

Regardless of Nathan's shouting, Jadrianne continued to follow him up until a local public park. Irritated, he spun on his heels to face her. The sudden move didn't surprise the girl one bit, instead, she stared at him, waiting for his words.

"Are you just going to follow me and not ask one single question about what you just saw?" Nathan questioned her in disbelief. "Not really, I'm just coincidentally walking the same way as you." She answered simply.

Nathan felt as if his vain in his temple was going to burst at her nonchalance. Is she kidding me? Nathan thought as he rubbed his hand down his face before looking at her who was now looking at the people walking by.
