Twenty-Eight:- Reunion Much?

"I didn't think you'd change so much though, Annie," the girl taunted. Jadrianne didn't think a day like this would come any sooner. She did more than just a double-check when she did her research. Now that she's standing before the person themselves, she's convinced.

"You grew up well, huh, Kennie," Jadrianne responded with the same tone as she did.

There were giggles and chuckles heard from outside the door of the room. "It's Kendal." She grinned.

Jadrianne shrugged playfully. "Don't be embarrassed. It's only fair we call each other with our nicknames. That's what terms of endearment are meant for, anyway." This topic was strangely familiar to Jadrianne it made her grin.

This cheeky side of Jadrianne has always been a trait that Kendal put up with since their younger days. "Rather than friends, we were more of the kids to our busy parents," Kendal huffed and plopped onto the couch of the lounge room.

The two knew each other, but as Kendal had said, they were never friends. In fact, those around them when they were young would label both of them as rivals of their generation per se.

"Anyways, I couldn't believe it was you until-"

"Until you paid your little servants to stalk about me? Ah, I should be flattered, but it's creepy, though," Jadrianne commented. If Nathan heard this, he'd probably go off.

"That's like calling the kettle black."

"Then," Jadrianne's dangerous tone alerted Kendal. "Do you mind if you stop playing your games on him?"

Kendal's breath hitched in her throat, but then she grinned in amusement. "Oh? Well, whoever do you mean?" This side of Jadrianne was never shown even during the days when Kendal and she were kids. Jadrianne stayed silent despite her piercing emerald eyes staring straight into the blue-eyed girl before her.

"Oh, you mean, that brute boyfriend of yours?" Kendal smirked as she drank her tea. "Why not? He seems fun, to me."

That's the only fun I won't let you take away. Jadrianne clenched her fists. "Kendal, you've never changed, even though I couldn't recognize you at first." This only made Kendal scoff mockingly. "You're one to talk. To think you'd be the lovey-dovey type with your boyfriend. Hell, I didn't think your weird-ass would even get one!" She snickered.

Jadrianne sighed as she made herself sit upright on the other couch opposite Kendal. "Let me make things clear. Him and I . . . are not dating, but I won't tolerate that you're trying to pull him into one of your games. What you saw back at the public basketball court was a mere coincidence."

Kendal leered at the childhood acquaintance before her. Just admit it. It's so obvious you feel something for that brute. Why hide it? You've come all the way here too. She thought.

"You're being awfully agitated when it comes to him, though." Kendal hummed.

"Well, I do have to agree with you, though." Jadrianne drawled making Kendal keeping an eye open in curiosity. "That guy is interesting."

The grin on Jadrianne's face was not what Kendal expected when talking about a guy. "So, now that you know, I'll be leaving now," Jadrianne stood up and headed for the doors until something flew past her face which then shattered when it hit the doors. Jadrianne reached her fingers up to her cheek, only to find blood.

It wasn't a surprise to her though. Instead, she turned her head to smirk at Kendal who wore a dangerous look despite her smile. "I bet that cup cost a lot for you to break it so easily like that," Jadrianne commented as she licked the blood off her finger.
