Thirty-Two:- A Little Push Wouldn't Hurt

Not even his first play from kindergarten where he had to dress up as a knight would make him as nervous as he is right now.

Just as the guys had planned, Nathan and Jadrianne sat down for breakfast at the coffee shop. Manager Enrique went as far as to close the shop for the morning just for the two teens.

Emet shook his head. "That idiot didn't pull her seat out," he whispered as the rest face-palmed from behind the small kitchen curtain. "Cut him some slack, man. He's just a baby deer at this," Dashawn muttered.

"So, breakfast at your own workplace, huh?" Jadrianne said as she nodded her head whilst looking around.

It was then she noticed the normally hot-headed male being abnormally quiet. She knew him going on a date and much less as agreeing to go was all new to him. Regardless, she was glad he even made effort as to dress up for it.

Nathan stiffened when she spoke and nodded. He couldn't look at her in the eyes. He trained his eyes onto the tablecloth and in his peripheral vision, he could see her arms that were resting on the table.

She's wearing a bracelet. I've never seen her wear accessories before. He realized.

"You don't have to force yourself; you know? We can have breakfast and-"

"NO!" He stopped her, flustered when she said that. She was shocked at his sudden loud voice. Truth be told, it was the last thing he wanted to happen. Nathan didn't feel comfortable knowing she'd dressed up for it so, that meant. . . she was looking forward to it. It made his heart race. He couldn't let her feel guilty for this.

Argh, man up! He internally scolded himself.

With a deep breath, he looked up and made eye contact with her green orbs. Once again, he remembered why he was at a loss for words. For the first time, she displayed femininity with her black tiny white-patterned vintage Harajuku mini casual dress that hugged her curves that Nathan didn't think she'd have. He was so used to her baggy and non-body-hugging clothes that he forgot she was a girl.

Even though he saw her wearing her pyjama from that day at her place, this appearance of hers before him filled his mind with thoughts he never thought he'd have. He wanted to smash his head to a wall to get his sanity back.

He was so concentrated on his thoughts he didn't realize Jadrianne was calling out to him.

" . . .than? . . . athan? . . . Nathan!!!"

"Huh?!" Nathan gasped when he was brought back to reality.

Jadrianne visibly relaxed when she got his attention. "You were staring off into space and I was getting worried."

When he realized he was distracted—especially since she's the cause; it made him embarrassed. Damn stupid girly 360° change!!! He internally cursed. He shook his head and leaned on his elbows on the table.

As the brunet covered his face with his big hands in embarrassment, he was unaware of the dark-haired girl opposite him watching the situation unravel. Jadrianne knew this was a lot of pressure for a novice of dates like Nathan. She was no exception, but she was much calmer since being upfront to him of her intentions.

She must think I'm a wimp. I'm the so-called Demon Nerd! How can I get so shook like this? We haven't even had breakfast yet! He sighed at his pathetic self.
