Twenty-Seven:- Suspicion of a Confrontation

"WE WON! We're going to Inter-High!"

Theodore's excitement echoed down the school hallway to which his shout was greeted with even louder cheers from the entire school. The rest of his teammates carried their chirpy captain down the hallways. The teachers didn't mind since they knew the students deserve to celebrate the achievement.

The basketball team manage to plough through the matches and are qualified to compete in Inter-High. With their strategic training from the team's coach, alongside their extra credit of monstrous practice with Nathan, the team made incredible improvements with their skills.

Jadrianne leaned on her side against the lockers as she watched the team hollered with the rest of the students. A grin appeared on her lips at the thought of them making it this far with the oh-so generous help of a certain Demon who used to vow not to make contact with anyone other than his spirit.

"Oh, Mystery Beauty!"

The nickname that only belonged to one person in the whole school. Looking to the side, she noticed it was Fay who was running over with a bright smile while holding . . . pom-poms?

The shorter girl finally reached Jadrianne's side and shook the pom-poms up to her taller schoolmate's face. "We won!" Fay squealed. Jadrianne grinned down at her and gave her a friendly pat on the head. "I heard," she simply answered.

"Hey! Miss Prince!" Theodore hollered as he and Brad jogged right up to the two girls. He left the cheering with the team to entertain the other students. "Don't call me that," Jadrianne told.

Theodore let out a chuckle from the response. "Well, that is your nickname now!" He said. Jadrianne didn't say anything to that. "Well, if you haven't noticed, our team won-"

"I didn't, even with all that confetti and large stretching 'Congrats Sky Team' banner," Jadrianne jested.

"Heh, she got jokes," Brad approved.

"Hmph!" Theodore pouted. "Anyways! Where's our Demon coach? He shouldn't be hiding around for this celebration!" Theodore asked as he looked around trying to spot the brooding Nathan.

"This celebration is probably the sole reason he's hiding anyways," Jadrianne stated. The rest nodded in agreement. "It's weird that you're not hanging around him though," Brad noticed. Jadrianne tilted her head as she questioned, "What made you think that?"

The spectacled boy shrugged. "Well, you can't blame me for thinking that way, but aren't you guys dating or something?" He asked. He went straight for the question! Theodore and Fay thought in shock as they looked back and forth between Brad and Jadrianne.

How straightforward. Not bad. Jadrianne thought in acknowledgement.

"Is that how we look to you guys?" She asked. Fay and Theodore fidgeted to answer as they don't know how Jadrianne would react since she does exude an authoritative aura. It is one of the reasons people would rather admire her from afar despite only being in Skylar High for just a month at most.

Brad ruffled his hair at the back of his head as he sighed. "Well, you're the only girl to ever approach and talk to him so casually," he voiced. I'm just stating what everyone's been saying. If she comes clean now, then they don't have to be cautious or whatever. Brad thought as he looked at Jadrianne who, to his surprise, only held such distant eyes when she spoke.
