Twenty-Nine:- It's Not Wrapped Up Yet
"The bandage itches."
"Deal with it," Nathan rolled his eyes.
Before Jadrianne knew it, she was lying on the hospital bed with the nurse treating her after wrapping her body with bandages. It shocked her that Nathan would drag her all the way to the nearby hospital after finding out that she's hurt. She was sure he would've hit her head and go back to school.
"You should go back to school," she told him. Nathan crossed his legs as he continued reading his notes from Research class. "The injured shouldn't speak," he nonchalantly says as he flips a page.
He's surprisingly stubborn about staying. Jadrianne silently chuckles. "I'm not that injured. You could've brought me to a clinic at least. A hospital's a bit dramatic." She shrugged. When the nurse left the room, Nathan snapped his book shut and turned to her who was sitting up on the bed. "Hmph! Both have doctors; same difference." She found him amusing.
"Anyways, where did those bruises came from?" He questioned immediately. Jadrianne blinked but then answered, "The bruise fairy."
"I'll kill you."
Jadrianne chuckled and waved her hand lazily. "That's ironic to say while here I am looking like a mummy."
Nathan felt frustrated over how relaxed she was being. When he found out that she was hurt after her time at Millennium Academy, his mind went blank and before he knew it, he took her on a bus ride to the hospital without another word. He didn't know what came over him, but he knew he didn't like how she was flinching.
His eyes scanned over her bandaged torso, arms, and leg. How can she chill with herself wrapped so much? He wondered.
He cleared his throat. "What're you even doing with that crazy chick anyways?" He inquired, "That shorty friend of yours told me what you found out. Look, I don't give a damn if she wants to play around; I'll just-"
"I do," she cuts him off.
"Hm?" He blinked.
She turned her head to him, giving him a view of her solemn expression with the light from outside dawning on her face. She reached out and gently place her hand against his cheek. "Clearly, you're a charm, and I'm not the only who thinks that.".
"H-Huh?" He was at a loss of words. The next thing he knew, she laughed. Oh, how that laughed made him forget what speaking was. This bandaged up girl was laughing like she isn't sitting on a hospital bed.
Nathan's face flushed red as his heart pounded at the sight. Wait, this again?! I'm in the hospital anyway, I need medicine. He thought. He couldn't believe she bluntly said she gives a damn about him even after calling her a weirdo countless of times.
Shaking his head, he turned to the side to hide his face from her. Adorable. She thought. "A-Anyways, answer my question. Why'd you even bother to see her? I can handle her myself if she does shit," he said. Jadrianne shook her head. "I know you can, but you don't know Kendal as I do. No worries, we're old friends."
"' Old friends' don't send each other bursting through hard wooden doors," he mentioned. However, he didn't think she'd say the name so familiarly. "So . . . you know her?" He couldn't help but be curious. Now that I think about it, I know nothing about this girl. He realized. All this time he's always thought of her as someone who just noses herself in his sticky situations.
