Thirty-Four:- Oh My God, It's Here

"Ah, yes, we're doing fine. My parents appreciate your cooperation with us."
Kendal balanced her phone in between her shoulder and the side of her head against her ear. She stood in front of her standing mirror caressing the formal A-Line red satin evening gown with a thigh-high slit. She's getting ready for a formal dinner party where most of the high-level officials in the business gather which her businesswoman of a mother received an invitation for their family.
Meanwhile, Serena waited for her schoolmate, she stood by Kendal's dressing table already dressed up in a rose gold corset bodice mermaid dress with a plunging neckline. Her ginger hair styled in a flat wave framing her facial features.
[???: Hmm, no worries. Both of our families are no strangers anyways, so this isn't a big deal.]
Kendal smirked at the mention of it. "Indeed. Well, this is only a small matter compared to what you're planning, if I must say." Her tone honeyed at the end as she made eye contact with Serena who remained nonchalant.
The person on the other line went silent since they knew the meaning behind those words of hers. Kendal could hear indicators clicking which meant the person she's talking to is currently in the car. She chuckled a bit when she knew where this person might be.
"Oh, right. You're coming for tonight's dinner, I heard. It'd be a little reunion, don't you think?" Kendal queried, walking towards the dressing table.
[???: I'll drop by after I meet an important client . . . as you should know.]
Kendal nodded. "Of course. I gave you the address so, I'm sure you can handle them. Unless you're jet-lagged."
The person on the other hummed as they stared out the window, watch as the buildings go by.
[???: Jet lag is nothing to me. Thank you, Kendal. We'll catch up when we meet. Goodbye]
Kendal grinned coyly once she was done touching up her makeup and when the phone call ended. "You really like stirring things, don't you, Kendal?" Serena spoke as they walked down the hallway. Kendal chuckled at her friend. "Once in a while, Serena. What can I say? When I see the chance, I can't help but meddle for some drama."
