Abby Griffin POV:
When Clarke had come in last night she was happy. Like REALLY happy. I figured out the reason why before even asking. She immediately started bragging about how her Octavia and Raven were all going to be together in Albany. Which to be honest had calmed my nerves and relieved my stress because I know there were going to be people she trusted with her most of the time to keep Clarke in check. I was almost finished with my second cup of coffee when Clarke came downstairs. "Morning sleepyhead." I said usually Clarke never slept this late and I would never let her, but I made an exception considering she was leaving today. "Morning mom how did you sleep?" Clarke asked, walking over to our table where I had put her breakfast a few minutes ago. "I slept really well sweetheart."Clarke Griffin POV:
Mom had told me she slept well this was good because I knew that being the CEO of multiple companies was just a tad bit stressful for her. "Hey mom?" I asked waiting for her to reply. "Yes sweetheart?" She said. "I was wondering if you would be okay with me and O splitting about 100$ each so that we could be roommates?" I asked nervous for what the answer would be. I really did want to make new friends. You know expand my horizon and all that but I also felt like I would need a big piece of my childhood close to me to keep me in check. "Okay yeah sweetheart no problem just uhm-erm promise me something really quick yeah?" She asked I gave her a confused look because we had gone over majority of the do's and dont's and all of that but she never looked this serious. I'm guessing she knew I was going to do most of the stuff she told me not to do anyway even with me being a good kid and all. "I know that you want to have fun and break the rules, make mistakes and have completely new experiences but just... Promise me you'll check in. I'm not gonna push for every day because I already know that it's asking too much and not gonna happen but, just don't forget than I'm here okay? I-I'm here." She said with tears threatening to spill over knowing I was going to be gone for a while after this afternoon. I practically ran over to her and gave her the tightest bone-crushing hug that I could, almost knocking her over. "I-I would never- I could never forget you. And like you said I won't keep in contact everyday I'm not gonna lie to you but I will call and text when I can. That's a promise." I then held her even tighter. But I didn't want to be the only one making a promise, I wanted her to make me a promise too. "Hey mom, there is one more thing." I stated. "Yes sweetheart?" She asked. " I need you to promise me that you will try to be happy while I'm gone mmkay, meet people. Don't shut out the outside world and close yourself off like I know that your going to be okay?" I meant every word of that. I knew that as soon as I stepped out of her sight later today she would become closed off and cut everybody off like she always does when someone leaves. Right when I was about to start speaking again to check if she was okay, she let out an impossibly quiet and quick "I promise". I swore that if I was more than a millimeter further away, I wouldn't have heard that familiar soft but warm voice.5 hours later:
It was now time to say my final goodbyes as I was finally at the door to the airport. I had spotted O and Raven doing the same with their parents before coming over to where me and mom had been. After releasing me from her incredibly strong grip she said "have fun and don't get into too much trouble." She said with a worried look in her eyes. "Don't worry Mrs.Griffin, me and Octavia will make sure she doesn't go sleeping around all of Albany." Raven said chuckling along with Octavia. My eyes widened with shock as my moms increased with worry her eyes remaining as calm as they could be after I assured her that they were kidding. I felt my moms eyes watching me until I was too far in the airport. It wasn't that clear but I could see her faded figure get into the car and speed away. We had boarded less than 20 minutes after going through the necessary luggage checks and safety precautions. It was time for some new experiences.
