Chapter 23: Dorm Sweet Dorm

Clarke Griffin POV:
It had been about two days after Lexa debriefed me. Lexa was currently driving us back to campus with Lincoln in another car behind us. There were a lot of different emotions running through me right now. "What did mom and O find out? How am I going to see Lexa after school? What happens if Azgeda gets the jump on us?" I thought to myself. "Your thinking too loud." Lexa says. "I can't help it. My life basically just got flipped upside down in the span of like...a week." I say. Lexa sighs. "I know, I know. Believe me, I wish we could've done this differently. Exposed you to our world slowly, beautifully, not rushed." She says. I fold my arms over my chest. "You call killing people and taking their mafias beautiful." I say, skeptically.

Lexa Woods POV:
I sigh. "Clarke, killing people... is not something I want to do. But... I have to. It's in my blood. I also need to make sure that Nia doesn't hurt anybody else. Okay?" I say, sympathetically. "Yeah, I guess I do." Clarke says. I smile and keep driving. "So... are you excited to go back to school?" I say, trying to change the subject. "Yeah! I'm miss O and Raven." Clarke says, excitedly. "Good, that's good. Quick question, is Octavia in a relationship?" I ask, pull into a parking spot on campus. Clarke smile immediately drops and she says "Yeah she has a girlfriend. Named Raven." I try to say something, realizing what I said came out the wrong way, but Clarke was already out of the car. I sighed and watched as Lincoln got out of his car a few seconds later and followed her.

Lincoln Pine POV:
After Clarke stormed out of the car, I wasn't prepared for that. I assumed they would talk for at least another five minutes.
I quickly grabbed my suitcase from the backseat since I would be staying on campus.
I was walking behind Clarke as she swiped her access card and walked into her building with me following behind. We walked into the building together and walked towards the elevator. "So what floor are you on?" Clarke asked. "Uhhhmmm... I believe I'm on the floor right below yours. My room number is C13." I finish. Clarke nods and presses the elevator button. We sit in awkward silence until the elevator bell dings. "Well... I guess I'll see you at school." I said. Clarke just smiled and murmured a quick "see you" as I stepped out of the elevator.

Clarke Griffin POV:
After Lincoln got off of the elevator I was fairly nervous. I don't know what Lexa had told Octavia while I was away. I didn't really have time to contemplate what to do because the elevator dinged, signaling that I was at the top floor where my dorm was. I slowly stepped out and walked towards my dorm room door. I pulled out my key from my back pocket and unlocked the door. It sounded like Octavia was in the shower because I could hear the water running. I figured that I would make some grilled cheeses for us in the meantime while I waited.
It had been about 10 minutes since I got back and I finally heard the water turn off. I put the grilled cheeses on a plate and sat down. Octavia came out five minutes later with wet hair brunette hair, her phone in her hand and her pink toothbrush. She was looking down at her phone so she didn't see me. I smiled and cleared my throat. Octavia looked up and her eyes opened as widely as possible and she dropped her phone. She started running towards the table and pulled me into a bone crushing hug.
"You're back!" She squealed. "How was your trip? Tell me EVERYTHING!!" She yelled excitedly. "Uhhhmmmm... M-my trip was really good. The people were really nice." I say nervously because I'm not even sure if what I said made sense. "Wait! You got to friggin' Hawaii, and those are all the details you give me?!?! Come onnnnnn!" Octavia says with pleading eyes.
Now that I know Lexa told her I was going to Hawaii, figuring out basic details shouldn't be THAT hard. But first, I had a question. "Hey, how did you figure out I was going to Hawaii if I didn't tell you?" I asked. "Well, I had just finished my classes for the day when I got a text message from a number saying that you had won a trip to Hawaii for a few days because you had the best grades in school! I even told Rav-, Nevermind- anyways that how I found out. Now give me those DETAILS woman!!!" Octavia said as she took a bite of her grilled cheese. "Okayyy...well when I got off of the plane there was a really nice lady who gave me one of those flower necklaces. Then I got into a car which took me to a Hawaiian themed hotel with like pineapples and cocktails on the walls. After that I headed to my room and ordered room service. The rest of the trip was pretty chill if I'm being honest." I said, hoping that she would believe me. "Sounds like you had a really good time!" She exclaimed as she took her last bite.
"Yeah yeah I did. Hey, O?" I said. She looked up at me and said "yeah." "When we were talking before you started to say Ravens name but you stopped and changed the subject. Is there something wrong?" I asked worried for Octavia. Octavia just looked down and breathed in deeply. "Me and Raven... are on a bit of a break right now..." She said. I opened my eyes widely with surprise. "I-i'm so sorry. W-what happened?" I said comfortingly but I was also confused because to me the two were perfect together. " Well... Rae had this big test that was like 45% of her grade or something so she was studying and I wanted to surprise her. I knocked on her dorm door and when she saw me she was totally drunk. She started yelling out of nowhere when I tried to help her, so I just made sure that she was safe and left. The following day I had about ten missed call from her but I was busy so I didn't pick up or call back. I haven't called or talked to her since." Octavia finished all in one breath.
"Okay... so what I got from that was Raven got drunk when she said she was studying for some big test, started yelling at you for trying to keep her safe and then you left?" I said. Octavia just nodded. "Woah. Do you want me to talk to her?" I asked. Octavia just shook her head no. "I'm gonna go to bed... Thanks for the grilled cheese. I'm leaving earlier than you tomorrow so I'll see you at school." She said while turning to leave. I quickly got up and hugged her. She smiled her thanks and went into her room, leaving me standing there alone. I cleaned the plates off and headed to my room, turning the kitchen light off on my way out. I flipped on my bed, too tired to change clothes. My last thought was of how to help my friends heal.
