Lexa Woods POV:I was awoken in the middle of the night by screaming. I quickly grabbed the hilt of my dagger that was hidden in my night clothes and jumped out of the bed. After frantically looking around the room, I noticed that there was no danger. I turned around to see Clarke, screaming in her sleep, shivering, and murmuring words I couldn't comprehend and having a nightmare. I tried to shake her awake. "Clarke." I whispered. No answer. "Clarke." I said, a little louder. Still nothing. I continued this for about five minutes.
After it was made clear that Clarke wasn't going to wake up by me calling her name, I thought of a different strategy. One that used to calm me down. Still does if I'm being honest. I carefully gave myself enough space behind Clarke, and slowly slipped in by her side. After checking to make sure I hadn't waken her, I wrapped my arms around her in a tight hug. The screaming and shivering gradually stopped. After about five minutes, the murmurs subsided as well. Clarke mumbled something that I couldn't hear, but I was aware that she was dreaming so it was probably nothing. I shook it off. But, then she mumbled the same thing, but louder. She said my name. "Lexa." She said again. I smiled and whispered sweet nothings in her ear until she peacefully fell back asleep.
Clarke Griffin POV:
I was having a nightmare. FANTASTIC. I could tell because it was dark and gloomy. From what I could see I was in the park that my dad and I used to go to.
Flashback:
"Okay Clarke we're almost there, less than five minutes mmkay?" My dad said. "Okay, daddy." I said in my little, tiny baby voice. We had just pulled up to the park and my jaw dropped. "Woah." Was all I could manage to say. My dad chuckled and proceeded to park the car. I was about three at the time so he helped me take off my seatbelt and help me out of my car seat. Once we got to the park, I. TOOK. OFF. I ran straight for the tallest slide and slithered my way through all the bigger kids. Once I got up to the slide I realized how big it was. I was terrified. But once I saw my fathers Mediterranean eyes, similar to mine and I saw him nod, it was as if time slowed and all my fears drifted away.
I slid down that slide, hands up and having the time of my life. Once I got to the end, my dad picked me up and spun me around in the air. "Great job princess!" My father exclaimed. "Again! Again! Again!" I said as I ran for another slide. My father chuckled and ran behind me, it was one of the best days of my life.
End of flashback:Once I entered the park, something was really off. There were no swings, no slides, but you could see the imprint that they left in the ground. I looked around because I felt eyes on me. Suddenly, I saw clouds start to float down from the gloomy sky. Once they got closer, I realized that they weren't clouds, but memories. Every. Last. One. I saw the time I got my first dog, Chewy. The time I chipped my first tooth in a hotel bathroom. Everything. But they suddenly began to change. I saw Lexa in one of them so I focused my attention on it. It looked like me and Lexa arguing about something. I tried to figure out when this happened, but it didn't. I really didn't want to see anymore so I ran. They followed me. I started running as fast as my legs could take me, screaming at the untrue memories to go away. I had only stopped running when I ran into something. It was Lexa. She hugged me and I was still panicking, trying to explain what happened. "Shhhhhh. It's okay Clarke. Turn around. There's nothing there." She said. I slowly turned my head to discover that she was right. Suddenly the sun began to rise. I stayed there in Lexa's arms. It seemed like the safest place I would ever be.
Lexa Woods POV:
Once I awoke once again, the beams of sunlight were streaming through the curtains. I was still hugging Clarke when she began to stir. Carefully, I got up and yanked opened the curtains. Clarke's hands immediately gravitated to her face. "Good morning Clarke." I said, smiling. She slowly lowered her hands as her eyes began to adjust to the light. "Lexa? Why are you up so early?" She said. "Well usually I'm not up this early but you have to be debriefed and we also have to give you a tour and visit the important places in the building." I answered calmly. "Oh." Was all Clarke said. "Thank you. F-for staying with me." Clarke said while getting up and starting to make the bed. "It was my pleasure." I said smiling while walking towards her to help make the bed. "Luna should be here in about an hour to give you a few outfit choices. After you decide she will take you to my room and we can start the tour and your debriefing." I said. She smiled and nodded her head. After we finished making the bed, I walked out of the room and went to my own to shower.
