"Ah, why didn't you use the shortcut?" I complained loudly as I watched Niki and Jay race against each other up on the screen.
"I didn't see it!" Jay excused loudly, clearly too immersed in the game to even realize how loud he was speaking.
"Why is it that he always have to speak so loudly when he plays games? It's honestly so annoying," Sunoo shook his head.
"His brain must be too little for him to multitask," I shrugged with a small smile on my face, immediately earning laughter from Sunoo.
"What did you say?" Jay loudly asked, not even looking away from the screen.
"How well you were doing," I stated making him immediately hum with a determined nod, just making Sunoo and I laugh at him once more.
"He's so gullible," Sunoo laughed and I just nodded in agreement before looking back at the screen.
However, my sight was immediately blocked, making me look up at Sunghoon in confusion.
"I'm trying to watch the game," I excused and waved for him to move.
"Can I ask you something?" Sunghoon spoke, whilst fidgeting around with his hands.
"Sure," I nodded at him, "what is it?"
"Alone?" he clarified, glancing to the three other boys in the room, "now?"
"Ah..." I hesitantly nodded, "uh... okay."
He let out a small hum with a small nod before immediately turning and walking into the bedroom. I hesitantly stood up and followed after him, closing the door behind me carefully.
"So? What is it?" I questioned making Sunghoon glance up from the ground and over at me, "you good?"
"You're still mad at me, aren't you?" he questioned making me let out a snort at him.
"Of course I am," I nodded at him making him let out a sigh, "mad and pissed."
"But I apologized," he pointed out making me close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose.
"I'm sorry, but that was the worst apology I had heard in a long time," I pointed out and opened my eyes to look at him again, "and I've heard a whole lot of shitty apologies."
"You know I'm not good at expressing myself," he sighed with a small frown on his face and I simply nodded, "please... what do I have to do for you to not be mad at me?"
"A proper apology would be in its place," I shrugged and crossed my arms across my chest, making him sigh at me, "you're not gonna be let off that easily. Not after what you said."
"Is there... is there anything else I could do, if I can't find the right words?" he questioned making me sigh and just stare at him for a good while.
"Do you have any idea of what you actually did to me?" I frowned at him, making him just look at me, "mentally?"
"Ah... I really screwed up, didn't I?" he slowly realized.
"I think that's an understatement," I nodded at him, "if I didn't already have a hard time building relations to other people, you sure as hell made it a lot harder for me to even just trust anyone. Heck I didn't even trust myself, becuase I thought I had been lying to myself for so long, about something I wasn't even aware of. If you really want me to stop being mad at you and regain my trust you have a long way ahead of you Park."
"Please not the surname," he winced at me.
"You really think you deserve me addressing you by your firstname?" I snorted making him sigh before just shaking his head at me, "then we're on the same page."
"Then lets..." he trailed off with a small sigh, "I don't even dare think about it," he muttered to himself, "but lets say that I'm extremely bad at expressing myself, and most likely will screw up even more with an attempt of a proper apology, what is a more safe way to slowly gain you back?"
I stared at him for a while, just staying silent. I know that the sadness in his eyes probably was genuine. But I just couldn't let everything return to what it once was. There was no way I was going to get hurt once again.
"Show me you actually care," I stated making him lift his head to look at me in surprise and shock, "show me you're actually sorry. If you can't do it with words, do it with actions."
"You mean that?" he questioned and I slowly nodded.
"Actions speak louder than words, don't they?" I questioned making him immediately nod at me, "show me you care, and be aware it's not gonna happen over night."
"I know," he nodded, "I'll wait."
"Now... I do believe I have to go check who won that race," I stated and opened the door behind me, "I guess I do wish you good luck."
"I think I'm gonna need it," he nodded in agreement.
I let out a small hum before stepping out of the bedroom and rushing back to my seat beside Sunoo, gasping at the new level Jay and Niki was playing.
"What'd I miss?" I immediately turned to Sunoo.
"Niki won," Sunoo grinned widely.
"Ah, I can't believe I lost," I complained, "I counted on you Jay!"
"Not my fault!" Jay excused.
"If he had just used that shortcut I wouldn't have to get you two whatever snacks you want," I sighed and gestured to Sunoo and Niki.
"We all know nothing comes between Niki and his fishbread," Sunoo waved it off, "next time pick and choose wisely."
"Ah... you're right," I sighed in disappointment, "but you'll first get it when we're paid for the month."
"Yeah, yeah," he waved it off, "now watch as we win again."
