Fake Cousins

On the screen only two Enhypen members sat. Edin and Jake. Both immediately greeted the camera with their usual introduction, just without Jungwon to start it for them, ending up in the two giggling at their unsyncronized greeting.

"Say Jakey boy, why are we here today?" Edin started and looked over at Jake.

"We are here today on popular request of Engenes," Jake announced and smacked his hands down onto the table, "a long time ago, on a vlive or maybe all the way back in I-Land, we opened up for the possibility of us being long lost cousins. Because your dad left you, your brother and your mom when you were fairly young. Around the same time my uncle moved back to Australia and lived with my family before he got his own place. So we're gonna find out... is my uncle, your dad."

"Exactly," Edin nodded and looked back at the camera, "now we could do this the easy way and go like "well Jake, what is the name of your uncle" and see if it matches with my dad," Edin explained and Jake sheepishly grinned, "here's the thing though... my dad left so long ago that I don't remember his name," Edin admitted with a small laugh, "so what did we do? Well, of course the company got us these rad DNA tests. From what I know they're mainly used for like... figuring out what ethnicities you have, but we won't be using it for that."

"I think we're pretty aware of what ethnicities we have," Jake pointed out with a small laugh and Edin immediately laughed.

"So what we will be doing is... basically just see if we show up on each other's "relation chart" or whatever it is called. Now technically we could be related further out than cousins, or we could just not be related at all," Edin continued.

"Would be pretty cool if we were cousins though," Jake pointed out and Edin nodded, "imagine me saying... oh yeah my cousin is like the grand daughter of Audrey Hepburn. I think that's pretty cool."

"Please don't go around saying that," Edin pleaded with a shake of her head and an embarrassed laugh, "so we have the kits!" Edin announced and pulled in two boxes before holding up a plastic tube, "so we have to spit in here, put the lid back on and ship it back, wait for some time and then we'll be back again."

For the sake of the video staff had decided to speed up the process of Edin and Jake spitting down into their plastic tubes, before they finally could put the lid back on once again.

"Ugh my mouth is dry," Jake complained as Edin nodded and frowned slightly before packing down her plastic tube again.

"These tests are made for people with an abnormal amount of saliva," Edin remarked and Jake let out a small laugh.

"So now we'll send back the tests and wait," Jake announced and Edin nodded before the screen went black momentarily and the two appeared on once again.

Of course they both had different clothes on, but this time Jake had colored his hair back to black after having been grey last time. Both of them sat with a computer in front of them.

"Hello, it is the possible cousins, and we. are. back," Edin announced and Jake nodded.

"So our DNA results came in yesterday and now we're back to check up on them," Jake announced and Edin nodded, "so we'll log in."

Both clicked on their computers and patiently waited. Immediately Edin's screen popped up, while Jake's was still loading.

"Yo, why is there so many colors?" Jake gasped and leaned over to look at the world map on Edin's computer.

"Jake... my mom-" Edin started before laughing and Jake sheepishly grinned.

"I always forget that you're like... extremely European!" Jake loudly defended as he looked back at his own screen, which didn't look like Edin's.

"I'm not extremely European," Edin defended and Jake just glanced at her as if he didn't believe her, "I'm not!"

"You only eat specific chocolates because others taste wrong and you literally cook pasta for yourself every other day!" Jake exclaimed and Edin immediately gasped.

"That's incredibly stereotypical of you to say," Edin condoned and Jake immediately pointed to a spot on Edin's map.

"Why does it say Greenland as well?" Jake frowned and Edin looked back at her screen before clicking on Greenland. 

"Ah it's only minimal," Edin excused, "it must be from my dad then," Edin murmured before looking up at the camera, "it just said I was... 2.67% Greenlandic Inuit."

"Ah they're called Inuit?" Jake questioned and Edin nodded quietly, "I always thought they were Greenlandians."

"You're kidding, right? You got to be kidding," Edin pointed out and Jake immediately shook his head as Edin let out out a small gasp and a frown stayed on her face in disbelief..

"We have to check if we're cousins," Jake reminded and Edin nodded as she immediately nodded and turned back to her computer, "alright I clicked it... drumroll."

Both on screen immediately began drumming the table before Jake gasped and looked closely on his screen as Edin leaned over to look as well.

"Does it say anything?" Edin questioned and Jake frowned as he clicked around.

"Not under the section of immediate cousins," Jake shook his head quietly, "let's just go under other relatives."

It went quiet as Jake clicked around and both scanned the page.

"I have a lot of other relatives, quite far out even," Jake murmured in shock before Edin abruptly pointed to the screen, "yoooo. Audrey Edin Hepburn... Second cousin once removed."

"That means... we have the same great grandparent... right?" Edin questioned and Jake shook his head.

"One of our great grandparent is the other's great great grandparent," Jake clarified and Edin slowly nodded, "so yo... we aren't cousins but we're second cousins... once removed."

"That's pretty crazy," Edin commented and Jake nodded before snapping his head over to look at her, grinning widely.

"We're related Ediiiiin," Jake happily exclaimed, "we need to celebrate, good dinner... on me."

"Okay okay... but it has to be something other than Chinese or Korean food," Edin warned, "let's go somewhere new."

"I'll text Jay for recommendations," Jake nodded as Edin turned back to the camera.

"This has been... Are We Related? With the... fake cousin!" Edin cooed as she pointed to the camera.

"The second cousins once removed!" Jake nodded with a happy laugh.

"I'm gonna eat well tonight," Edin continued as Jake nodded in agreement.

"Oh yeah," he agreed before both broke down laughing and waved goodbye to the camera.
