Chapter 32

The next day....

Today the hospital was going to release jay, his vitals were stable and he wasn't physically hurt. He did have some old wounds that but they eventually healed over time.

Will: I heard they're letting you out today.
Jay: yes they finally letting me out this hell hole.
Will: 😂😂 it wasn't that bad!
Jay: dude I miss my wife and kids.
Will: trust me they miss you too. They will be happy to have you back home too. Have you scheduled session with Dr. Charles yet.
Jay: Yea, I gotta make sure I'm 100% for my family and plus Erin agreed to go with me. I know she still has to adjust to me being back.
Will: let guess, she's says she okay and but really she's not.
Jay: Yea, how'd you know?
Will: I've gotten to know your wife and kids pretty well these last few months and they are all amazing.
Jay: That I know is true, they are amazing.
Will: Erin is almost here, and your discharge papers are almost done. Are you nervous?
Jay: no in good!
Will: Jay let me in, cause I know your not good.
Jay: fine, I am nervous! I haven't seen and lived under the same roof as my family in a year. I still have nightmares, I'm scared every time Erin sleeps next to me. I'm afraid I might hurt her, but I need her around because I feel grounded when she's around me. I'm afraid to go back to the house because the last time I was there I told my family goodbye and I missed everything.
Will: Have you told any of this to Erin?
Jay: No, I just want to go home.
Will: You underestimate your wife, and your free to go. I see Erin and the kids coming down the hallway now. Listen jay talk to Erin she will understand.
Erin: Morning guys!
Bella: morning daddy, morning uncle Will!
Maverick: morning daddy, morning uncle Will!
Jay: Morning Bella and Leo, morning Er.....
Will: Morning! He's ready to leave guys.
Erin: That's great, are you ready to go Jay?
Jay: Umm yea never been more ready to leave.

Erin and Will both shot each other a look, a look that basically said jay was not fine he's just saying it. Erin already had a plan, she knew Jay wouldn't feel comfortable going back to the house yet so she decided to go somewhere else. Will still had time off of work so would tag along with them.  Erin helped jay get dressed while Will brought the kids downstairs to the car. Erin helped jay down to the car, he didn't notice the extra bags in the back of the car. Erin dropped Will off at his apartment, while Erin, jay and the kids were heading to Hanks lunch instead of the dinner they had planned. Kim and Adam joined them since Kim needed to speak to Erin and it sounded very important. Hank fixed a nice spread for everyone whole Kim and Erin went to go talk in her old bedroom.

Erin: So, what's up girl?
Kim: I'm pregnant...
Erin: are you serious, I'm so happy for you!
Kim: I am happy, but I just needed to tell someone or I was  gonna go crazy. I'm also scared, last time I told everyone and she didn't survive. So I just really needed to tell my best friend.
Erin: I'm so happy for you Kim, and this time will be different. I will be watching you like a hawk. How far along are you?
Kim: I just hit the 3 month mark, and I know I should be happy but I want to wait till I'm showing.
Erin: I have feeling you want to go on desk duty, but you don't want anyone to know.
Kim: sounds about right,.
Erin: would you like me to talk to Hank and see if he can somehow get you a desk job.
Kim: If you don't mind That would be great.
Erin: no problem, I'm happy for you.
Kim: Thank you, now let's go eat before they get suspicious.

Erin and Kim joined everyone back down stairs for lunch. After they had finished eating Adam and Jay took the kids to go run outside for a little while. While they were outside Erin had a chance to talk to Hank for Kim, and as much as he wanted to hear this news from Kim he understood why she asked Erin. Hank offered her a job working down at the dispatch office till she felt comfortable coming back. Kim was fine with that idea, and agreed to it pretty quickly. Erin talked to Hank for a little bit before she figured it was time to hit the road. They still had to go back and pick Will up as well, so they really needed to head out.

Jay: You do remember the house was the opposite way right?
Erin: Yes Jay, I remember which way. First we have to go pick your brother up then we will go that way.
Jay: what are you not telling me?
Erin: oh nothing, call will and tell him to be standing outside.
Jay: 🙄🙄 fine, he said he'd be standing outside.
Erin: Great!
Jay: umm Er, why doe Will have a suitcase.
Erin: you'll have to wait and see.
Will: well Hello everyone.
Erin: Will can you drive I know you won't be able to fit in the back with the kids.
Will: you call me fat!
Erin: I would never 😂.
Jay: Kidding and yea I would be fine driving. Does Jay know?
Erin: Nah, but he wants to know.
Will: This will do him well!

Will began the drive and let's just say 4 hours in a car with a sleepy toddler and a crying infant is not fun. Jay was able to sleep through much of it since Erin sat in the back and handled the kids. After almost 5 hours of driving they finally arrived back at the cabin. Jay was still sleep so Erin and Will brought the kids inside to their beds, and then unloaded the car. After they removed everything Erin to the passenger door and opened it. She called Jay's name a few times before he woke up.  He was just as confused not knowing why they were at the cabin. Will got the kids settled in and then he went to his room, while Erin helped Jay up to their room.  They both quickly went showered so they could head to their bed .

Jay: How come you brought us here? Did Will tell you?
Erin: no I didn't talk to Will, and I figured you might have a hard time being back in our house. The last time you were there you said goodbyes. I also know being up here usually helps calm your mind, and helps you restart. I want you be here in your safe haven.
Jay: I swear you know me so well, l told Will the same thing. I was afraid to tell you that.
Erin: Hey I just got you back, if you need to talk to me please let me know. I would rather you tell me vs letting you deal with it by yourself and Im your wife I'm suppose to know you best.
