Chapter 34

"I think I'm ready to go back home now".......

Jay felt that he was on the right track, going home was the first step. That alone was a big hurdle, next was learning to readjust to being home. In Jay's head he thought he was alone, but Erin made to sure tell he's not cause now the entire family had to readjust. This was a good growth for the family.
    The next morning they packed up everything at they needed at the cabin and left. They started their 5 hour journey back home.

Erin: Are you sure your ready for this?
Jay: With you by my side, of course. I know this hasn't been easy so I really do appreciate you sticking it out.
Erin: for better or worse, I'm not leaving you ever.
Jay: How do we go back to our lives?
Erin: We don't, everything has changed. We are starting back at square again. This fall Bella will be starting kindergarten, so we have to make sure she's prepared for that. Mav and drew will go to daycare if we go back to work.
Jay: Do you want to go back?
Erin: Yea, I've been gone a while, what about you?
Jay: Yea, I want to get back to something familiar, and scheduled. I'm not saying you guys aren't familiar but......
Erin: working helps you process everything.
Jay: Yea, and I still have regular appointments with Dr.Charles, and a support group as well.
Erin: I'm proud of you! Your working so hard to make sure your okay, and I really love that.
Jay: It really help when you have someone to keep fighting for. You and the kids are what's driving me to better myself.
Erin: We love you.
Jay: I love you guys!

Erin and Jay made the 5 hour journey back home, Will ended up helping them unload all of their things back into the house before he left. It's had been a while since the entire family had been under one roof, it felt so different. It was already late at night so Erin change the sheets on the kids bed and helped the bathe them. Jay went to go put Bella in her bed, while Erin went to put mav in his bed. There was only one munchkin that was left and that was drew, he was such a quite little guy. The only time he ever cried was for a diaper change , or he was sleepy, or for the boobies. Since drew doesn't have a decorated room yet he is going to sleep in Erin and Jay's room in his playpen. Jay decided tonight he was going to put drew down for bed, it really gave the 2 some bonding time together.

Jay scooped him up brought him into their bed and talked to him. Drew had the same weak spot as his dad. Both of her boys go weak when you rub the back of their head and the little area underneath the ears. Jay started rubbing the back of drew head and he was getting sleepy, but drew needed Erin to get the final push of sleep.Erin got in bed and fed the little guy, and that most certainly put him in a milk coma. Drew was fully stretched out on Erin chest, she slowly got up and placed him in his playpen. After making sure all the kids was in the bed, she joined Jay in the bed. Once she was in bed Jay wrapped his arms around her waist and laid across her legs.

Jay: I love laying like this on you.
Erin: How come?
Jay: I feel grounded, you make me feel safe.
Erin: You make me feel safe too.
Jay: it's not only safe, but at Home, I just feel at peace. I guess your my security blanket, you protect me from all the bad things I've seen and done. I really appreciate you, I feel I don't say or show it enough.
Erin: Hey.... I know you love me, that has never been something I have ever questioned.
Jay: How about tomorrow night we have a family night.
Erin: I'd loved that, what should we do?
Jay: Let's camp in the backyard, roast hot dogs, marshmallows, the whole nine or we can can make homemade pizza with the kids and just hang in the pool.
Erin: How about pizza, s'mores, and stargazing.
Jay: I like it, so that's what we will do. I'll go to the store tomorrow morning and get a few things.
Erin: Okay, now let's get some sleep.
Jay: I love you!!
Erin: I love you too!

The next morning Jay had woken up first, he went to go check on all the kids first to make sure they were still sleep. Lucky they were sleep but Drew was just laying in his playpen wide awake. Thankfully when drew woke up last night for a midnight feeding, Erin had pumped extra milk for him. Jay picked drew up and changed his diaper and then fed him. After he fed drew he went changed and put clothes on himself and drew so they could go to the store. Before leaving jay left Erin a note.

Er,
Morning beautiful, I woke up early so I headed to the store. Drew was also woke, and thought we could use some extra bonding time. So I have our little guy with me, and I started some coffee for you. Your cup is in the fridge, cream and sugar is already poured in there.

Erin: God I love that man!!

At the store.......

Jay: Should we get some water balloons buddy?
Drew: ooo aaa
Jay: I agree, let's get out of here bud.

As they were checking out jay heard a woman screaming loud and rude things to the cashier. Jay was going to intervene but he's not currently a cop. That's when the lady screamed his name.

Bunny: Jay Halstead..... I know you hear me talking to you. Can you come help, this idiot isn't capable of checking me out.
Jay: Why am I not surprised that it's you causing a scene. What's seem to be the problem?
Cashier: The $20 is counterfeit.
Jay: You tried to pay with fake money..
Bunny: I gave her a real $20, look can you just help me out here?
Jay: Whatever here's a real $20, now can I get back to my kid.
Bunny: Thank you, where's Erin?
Jay: At home with my kids.
Bunny: Can you tell her I wanna speak to her?
Jay: Sure, why not!

Jay left the store and loaded the bags into the car and headed home. He got out of the car and grabbed drew and brought him inside. Erin was in the kitchen making breakfast for everyone, jay sat drew down and went back to grab the rest of the bags. Once he was finished he told Erin that he ran into her mother.

Erin: What did she say?
Jay: she wants to talk to you. She didn't say what it was about or anything. She seemed different I don't know what it was though.
Erin: I'll talk to Hank, maybe he knows. Can you get the kids up, breakfast is almost finished..
Jay: No problem... be right back....

Erin: We need to talk?
Hank: about what?
Erin: Bunny!!!!
