Chapter 38

It was comfortable spending time with Seokjin now. You could hardly believe yourself that you'd find comfort with someone whom you despised a few months ago and the idea of arranged marriage seemed absurd.

You sat along his side after sharing some romantic moments, teasing each other and even roasting each other.

The topics were going everywhere and now there was pure silence just the calm breathing of both of you as you enjoyed each others presence. This was something you both were getting quite used to but still found it enjoyable.

"Seokjin-"

Your words were cut off by a cracking of the branch making you both jerk your heads towards the sound.

"Was there someone following you?" Seokjin asked standing on his toes, his eyes wandering around the forest

"No...I made sure no one followed" you mumbled holding onto his arm

He took out his sword pushing you behind his form as he advanced towards the large tree from where the sound probably came from. You yourself held your breath terrified of whom it would be but soon it faded when a squirrel ran to another side leaving you both flinching at the sudden appearance.

Seokjin let out a deep sigh that he wasn't sure he was holding, looking back at you
"You okay?"

"That's what I'm supposed to be asking you" you giggled feeling relieved as well.

Jimin felt it was only right to leave as you both sat quiet and it was getting a bit uncomfortable judging your every move. Even though the king ordered him to act as a spy he felt it was wrong to do so. Without thinking further he jumped down making the leaves and branch beneath him crush leaving a louder sound than he expected

"Shit" he cursed under his breath, noticing he grabbed the attention of the couple sitting a few feet away from him.

He tried to hold his breath hoping that the prince charming would stay behind and it would be easier for him to escape, but as Seokjin advanced, Jimin started thinking of various ways he should escape when the most obvious one struck him, mentally face palming himself. He vanished teleporting himself out of the place the exact moment Seokjin got behind the tree pointing his sword towards nothing but a squirrel passing by.

"Any news Jimin?" The king asked cleaning his sword

"No sire. She only went out to the town twice since you weren't here apart from that she's been in her room" Jimin answered kneeling before his majesty

"And about her whereabouts and whom she's meeting?" The king further questioned

"The crown prince came to visit her once" Jimin admitted

"I thought so...alright thank you for your service Jimin. I'm glad that you've been honest with me" the king says getting up to leave the room

"Sire" Jimin bowed his head getting up right after to follow the king out.

"A grand dinner is arranged by the king to finalize the date of your marriage, your highness. Would you like to pick out what you're going to be wearing that day?" Your maid asked you as you sat on the bed groggily staring into blank space with your messed up bed hair

"Is Seokjin going to be there?" You asked, your voice sounding hoarse.

"Of course your highness. The royal family is going to be present at the event"

You jumped up from the bed hearing those words. The royal family; this means Seokjin's father, the current king of Acheron would be present as well. Your nervousness arouse so as your excitement. You're finally going to meet your in-laws and of course you wanted to impress them that they chose the right woman for their son.
