Chapter 31

Yona.

This was the last time she would be here right? She had to make things right on her behalf. At least she had to stand up for herself. She knew she did nothing wrong and she had to face Kai and talk to him. Clear up all the misunderstanding. No matter how much of a loyal friend she could be to May she was very well aware of May's selfish persona. What May likes she gets, no matter whose hands were on it whether it'd be a thing or a person. Alas this wasn't the first time May took something from her, besides she herself was one of the "things" May obtained for herself cause she knew she couldn't get anything better.

It was kindergarten and the kids were told to play together sharing their toys. Yona's new technology doll was something everyone admired.

"Yona can we please join and play with your doll" a group of kids crowded around her as she looked around with her big doe eyes.

"No...Yona is my best friend so I'll decide who we play with, right Yona?" Yona's eyes sparkled as the girl in front of her just gave her the "best friend" title. Never in a million years did she thought she would have May as her best friend. May Lee the daughter of the biggest shareholder of the Stock exchange company in Korea. Where people admired how rich and pretty she was. She basically was the most popular kid around the school and basically everybody wanted to be her friend.

Sure Yona had her own peers but she didn't decide who became her friend. She would just go along and get friendly with everyone. She was a friendly and loving kid. But with bad company comes bad personality and Yona learned that the hard way.

"R-right!!" Yona voice squeaked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
The kids dispersed as they saw may picking only a few kids that were her friends to play along.

After an hour or so Yona could feel that she was being left out as her doll was passed around everyone but her.
"Umm..hey can I get her back, I never got my chance to play"

"I wanna keep this doll" May said with a straight face making Yona shock, "after all we're best friends we can trade things like all the rest of the best friends do...here you can have my Barbie keyboard, it even have lights on it" Yona wasn't very pleased but she was also taught to behave and appreciate the little things in life. So without arguing she gave a sweet smile thanking May.

And this went on for a couple of days until Yona spoke up for herself, saying that she doesn't like it when someone goes overboard with her stuff. Her dad brings things from hard work and she doesn't like to throw things away like May does unconcerned about the objects when her heart is full.

And it happened when Yona found out that her doll was thrown out just because May got tired of it and it's mechanics stopped working as May was careless with it. Little yona's heart broke seeing that attitude of her so called best friend.

"If you go on telling this to anybody I'll let everyone know who killed the hamster in our class" May spoke up, her eyes never holding any pity.

"But you and I both know it was an accident" Yona eyes turned teary as her hands trembled and ears became red

"But you did over feed it when we were told not to, so you killed him. But I've been quiet about it for the whole time but if you don't stop blabbering about your stupid doll I'll make sure every one in the class knows that you're a murderer" May spoke up loudly, her eyes flaring with anger but there was a little fear inside her eyes. Yona was the first person to speak against her will and she didn't like it. She was used to being dominant and getting everyone on her side.

Fresh tears welled up in yona's eyes as she sobbed uncontrollably at the bad memories that only hurt her she didn't know why she still remembered those things those little flashes of memories were more like nightmares to her. Her vision got blurry as she sniffed and wiped off her tears only for new ones to form. She was hurt and it would only hurt more realising that she gave all of her to May, she trusted her loved her like any friend would when she never really deserved a friend like Yona.

Her foot accidentally hit the accelerator when a loud thud was heard making her car jerk and hit her head on the wheel. It was blank for a second and all she could hear was her head ringing when she felt something cold dripping from her head. Blood.

She saw ahead only to see a dead body lying on the pavement making her eyes wide open.
"Oh no...oh no..I hit a p-person, I hit a person" getting back to her senses she quickly unbuckled her seatbelt getting out of the car to see the lying corpse and check whether it was still alive or not.
She started checking her nerves to check if she was breathing when she realized that whom she hit was May. This isn't what she wanted, or maybe it was. But why did it had to happen this way? She looked around only to realize that she was near Kai's house, only a few steps away. He would listen to her right? He wouldn't call the police and tell her off. She quickly ran without another thought only to fall on the ground once again when she saw the door open and Kai lying down there lifeless blood all around him, splattered. Making her wanna throw up.

Was May behind all of this? Did she kill Kai and was trying to run away? The entire thing was extremely messed up. Maybe May got what she deserved.

Yona couldn't handle it anymore and left without doing anything. Someone else might call the police. Someone else should handle the entire situation. She ran away, her entire body shaking and trembling as her hands felt extremely cold and her tears never stopping, this time out of fear as she got in the car starting her engine and driving off

You were hiding behind the tree watching the entire thing. You thought Yona might at least help May or call the police but she didn't, she quietly got back in the car and drove away. You sighed out of relief as you saw your blood stained hands, suddenly your breathing got heavy. You took the extra shirt that you brought out from Kai's place wiping your hands and face from it as you wore your own, dropping the shirt on the ground and getting out of that place as quickly as possible without getting caught by anyone.

The sirens could be heard from the distance as you got out of the neighborhood, your hands still trembling. You tried to stay calm but it wasn't working, you weren't wearing any pants just your oversized shirt. Anyone looking at you closely might feel something wrong and approach you looking at your condition, not wearing shoes or proper clothes. Your hair messed up and hands slightly red from the blood stains as they had already dried off. Just the thought of getting home without causing any furthermore trouble would be good for now.

People gathered around the blood shed house as ambulances stood before the porch. The paramedics telling people to back off as the police arrived at the scene. It was sickening.  The claw marks initiated on the walls and doors, floor covered in blood but Kai's body couldn't be found anywhere.
"You said you saw a dead body here"
The police asked a woman who had called them seeing the disturbing scene when she got back from grocery shopping.
"There was! I don't know where it go. He was literally lying here just a few minutes before I called the ambulance and police, there had been an accident as well, a dead woman was lying there. I think it was an attempted murder" the middle aged woman started panicking and crying

"Well leave that to the investigators. Please calm yourself. Who was this man to you?" The police questioned as the woman started giving information.

As the investigation started taking place Joshua's head peeked out from the group of people looking inside the house as the police and paramedics tried to back out the crowd pushing them and telling them to not cause trouble.

"Oh no again?!?" Joshua let out annoyed and frustrated seeing the claw marks and blood almost everywhere.

He had a disgusted face on as he saw the condition of the house thinking he's gonna barf any moment now if he stays a minute longer at that place.
