Chapter 28

It's finally time

Finally, to clear everything between Rachel and Jimin. He hated how things turned out between them and it was somewhat because of y/n. They both sat on the floor of Rachel's apartment supporting their backs on the walls as they sat at a safe distance from each other

"It has always been y/n hasn't it? She deserves to be loved after all she went through, she's a very nice girl she didn't deserve this kind of punishment....I understand why you love her so much" Rachel smiled sadly looking down at her hands tearing off some lose skin left on the side of her fingers

"Rachel I'm sorry you had to go through this with me...but believe me if I were to choose another life I wouldn't even hesitate to fall in love with you"

"You're just saying that because you feel sorry for me" she scrunched her nose still not meeting eyes with Jimin.

"I really mean that, there were times that....I actually did fall for you and nothing crossed my mind but you"

"If y/n were to find out about how we truly met..maybe she'd think the same as you, I can clearly see the girl doesn't like me but...if you both loved each other from the very start why make it more complicated, why not just come straight and confess to eachother?"
"I wish it were that easy, humans are complicated. That's for sure" he smiled to himself
"We truly are." Rachel paused taking a deep breath before continuing "Thank you for saving my life Jimin. I don't know if I would have a reason to live, but you give me one"
"Rachel....that doesn't mean you can end our promise now. You need to live for yourself. Find someone who truly cherrishes you. This world is full of cruel people but there are also the ones you can commit to....people like you." Jimin spoke up his eyes full of concern and guilt.

He loved her but he knew what he was here for. He never thought he would grow so close in the past few years to someone who he met on the edge of the bridge, someone who loathed life to the extent of ending their own. Her face emotionless but eyes full of pain. He still remembers that memory clearly. He could've left her on her own but someone so perfect from the looks could be so wrecked inside that was truly curious to him.
This world was indeed cruel but something inside him didn't want this girl to die he wanted to save her and give her a purpose and so he did.

Flashback
"Hey! Are you crazy? What are you doing?" Jimin yelled at the girl drenched in rain as she held her self for the dear life. Her breath quickened as she felt scared of her decision but eager at the same time. There was a reason she was here. All those worst decisions of her life brought her here.

"Don't you dare come closer, If you do I'll jump without hesitation" she yelled back

"You're already gonna jump aren't you? Let's talk before you really regret what you do" Jimin approached her reaching out his hand to her.

"Why? Why do you care so much for someone you don't even know. You're all the same, only caring when people are wrecked enough to take their own lives. Nobody cares if I live or die so why care now? I hate it, I hate living so much that it suffocates me. And every passing day it gets worse, so I just want it to end now. I want this pain to end forever, everything's gone and ruined, there's nothing I can live for, no one to live for. So it's better if you just pretend you didn't see me and walk away" she sobbed, her voice wavering as she yelled over the loud pitter-patter of rain

"And do you think you'll be happy if I do? You'll get more hurt if I actually do walk away. Life isn't always about flowers and rainbows, it's about challenges that you face and how you overcome those fears. You're just being weak giving up, so it's better that you just give me your hand and we can talk the rest after you get off this bridge"
