DINNER NIGHT

You were helping your mother set the table when the doorbell rang and you knew it would be them. You were nervous to finally face them after the incident that happened with you. You truly did miss Jimin and you felt bad about meeting Rachel; after that night. You took deep breaths before going to the door but your mother was quicker than you

"Y/n snap out of your day dream, you're taking too long to do anything"

She opened the door and was greeted by the cute couple

"heyyy" your mom hugged Jimin and kissed him on the cheek and Jimin returned the gesture while Rachel respectfully bowed before coming in

"hi! We brought you some treat" Rachel handed the dish to your mom smiling shyly

"oh you didn't have to! Come in here darling" she hugged Rachel with one of her hand while holding the dish on the other. You awkwardly stood there thinking back and forth if you should happily greet the guests or just go back in the kitchen.

"are these rice cakes?! y/n today's your lucky day" your mother exclaimed excitedly looking at you while both of them slipped off their shoes and made their way in. At this point you truly wanted the earth to swallow you alive because your mother couldn't help but make you embarrassed in front of every other person and especially JIMIN and now his fiancé.

"now take this and put it in the kitchen....and don't eat it before dinner" you took the dish shutting your eyes tightly as you heard giggles behind your back. You placed the rice cakes on the counter hiding your red face in your hands while you cussed silently.

You felt a pair of arms snaking around your waist and warm breath on your neck. You flinched at the touch and tried to see who it was but the hold was firm and didn't allow you to move much "I missed you" he whispered

"Jimin" you whispered back putting your hands over his and slightly looked at him whose face was buried in your neck. You missed his touch, at one point you didn't want him to let you go but on the other you felt weird, why would he come out of nowhere and hug you like that. His touch seemed and felt different from the ones he usually gave you. But before you could make out what to say he let go off you and the kitchen door swung open revealing Rachel with her soft beautiful features

"y/n..." she hugged you warmly rubbing your back "we were so worried about you, you've lost so much weight and you look extremely weak" she let go off you and saw you from head to toe meeting your blank expression once again "uhm I'm fine actually I feel a lot better" you smiled a little but you weren't sure if that smile came out to be awkward. You weren't used to too much affection, so all of this was a bit overwhelming.

"well that's good to hear, you have no idea how much excited I got when your mother called this morning and invited us over. Jimin told me you like rice cakes a lot, so I made them especially for you". She smiled sweetly once again. Literally every word she said was extremely sugarcoated but at this point you couldn't hate her she was SO nice that you hated it but couldn't the same time. You wanted to like her but something inside you just didn't want to accept it. The fact that she's better than you and Jimin saw her as something he never saw you as. There's no reason Jimin wouldn't fall for her. At least she's expressive something you're horrible at.

You all sat at the dinner table and chatted along. Rachel made sure to keep you engage in the conversation. But being the quiet person that you are you would grow quiet every now and then. While you fiddled with your vegetables in your plate staring at the meat pie that your mom made especially for the couple. You felt a pair of eyes staring at you. You looked up to see none other than Jimin who had his eyes glued on you. He gave you a slight smile which made a shiver go down your spine. You tried to avoid his gaze distracting yourself with the pie and scooping it out in your plate. You ate it without looking up at him or anyone at the table. You glanced up to see that Jimin who was now looking at Rachel but his gaze soon returned to you, and he couldn't help but smile at how your figure would shrink and you would get flustered by his stares.
