I woke to the sound of tapping, I sat with my eyes closed for awhile trying to figure out what was tapping, the leaky-ish tap? No I can't hear that from the bedroom, Ethan? Seems to far away to be him. It sounded like a hollow sort of tapping, I opened my eyes slowly, defeated by the fact I couldn't guess it, and sat up looking for the source of the noise, I glanced over to Ethan who was sleeping happily face down into his pillow, nothing in the room was moving and it sounded to close to be outside the room.
I got up quietly, trying my hardest not to wake Ethan up and listened closer for where it was coming from, waiting patiently for the little tap, tap, tap
Tap tap tap
There it was! Was it... was it coming from the window? I stare at the curtain for a second and suddenly see a shadow move around, startled I jump back slightly, almost loosing my footing. I steadily gain balance and try to look out the window without moving the curtains or being seen.... wait why am I doing this I can just open the curtain.
I walk over to the stone coloured curtain and draw it back quickly and see a dark figure dart away, I open the window as wide as it could go and yell out of it
"HEY WHAT DO YOU WANT?" I yell as I watch the figure round a corner, it's face I could not see and it's body was mostly covered in thick dark blue clothes, all I could see was it's pale white hands and curly brown hair, extremely similar to the guy in my nightmare, no, that's not real, I'm just getting paranoid about the wedding.
"Mark! Could you be any louder" came a disgruntled voice from behind me. I turned to see a sleepy looking Ethan sat up in bed staring at me, he smiled slightly and I plonked myself on the bed next to him, he lay his head on my shoulder and I held his hand
"I'm sorry, there was just someone outside, tapping on the window it was annoying" I rub my thumb up and down his soft hands
"It's fine" he laughs getting up and offering me his hand so I can pull myself up as well
"Come on, we only have two days to decide what we are wearing for the wedding"
