A/N: Azula. That's the tweet
Ryujin POV
"It's been awhile," she greeted me."I know now. I know who I am," I responded, "Why didn't you say anything back then?"
There was nothing but silence. Mako was at my side, confused at what was going on. He knew of Azula—almost every fire bender would—but what he didn't know was that she was my grand aunt; well, I didn't know till now.
"It was to keep you safe," she said but it felt like an excuse.
"You're just lying to me," I yelled, stomping the broken floor and letting my hand fly down. Out of nowhere, I accidentally shot fire onto the wooden floor.
"Oh shoot!" I panicked. I didn't know what to do. But from the side, Azula handled it.
"What are you even doing here," I asked her, "Are you apart of the Red Lotus or something?" I already knew the answer to that—no—but I still wanted to make sure. Azula is so unpredictable and never really proven herself to be trustworthy.
"You know why I'm here," she said, smiling mischievously, "They're after me too. Even when I've been unofficially exiled from the Fire nation, I'm still a threat." That's sort of a relief. "But, that doesn't mean I'm on your side," she continued, "I'm merely not as bad as a threat."
"Is she safe," Mako asked me but before I could answer, Azula interrupted me.
"Don't worry about me. Your girlfriend and I are the best of friends and we have such a great family dynamic," she sarcastically teased and hooked her arm around my neck.
"Even if you are just an old lady, I'll kill you if I have to," I snarled back. She gave a cheeky smile to both me and Mako. All I wanted to do was beat her face.
I got out of the grip and moved back to Mako.
"Let me come with you," she proposed, "Well not next to you but I can give you some guidance. I'll see you at Misty Palms Oasis."
Before I could grab her, the entire buildings suddenly went up in flames. The room lit up in blue and heated up hotter than expected. I stayed in, looking for her deeper and deeper in the tiny building. But Mako was gone.
"Ryujin," I heard. It sounded like my father. I turned around and when I did, everything looked like an apartment building. It felt very familiar.
"Mom? Dad," I screamed with no hesitation. It was like I was already living through this moment except this time the flames were different. "Hello? Mom? Dad?"
Tears began to streak down my face as I searched through the apartment. As I walked through another room, I was suddenly grabbed and pulled out. I blinked once and everything became cooler.
"What were you doing inside," Mako asked me and pulled me into a tight hugged, "Wha...why did you do that?"
I couldn't tell him why but it felt like I was reliving something. I just stayed silent and walked back into the jeep.
"Let's just go."
I slept the whole car ride and woke up to a sunny morning in another village.
"Get up," Mako said to me, "We're heading out."
I wipe away the hair from my face and quickly prep myself. "Where are we going," I asked him. He shrugged and said, "Just gonna ask questions. Regular detective work for a regular girl." I rolled my eyes and laughed but when he said that, I felt a slight uneasiness from him. "Are you okay though," I asked him, "Was this about yesterday cause I really don't know what came over me." He looked to the side and shrugged. "Just forget about it. I was just able to save you this time and I feel good about it," he told me.
We walked over into a bar. It was dimly lit and very smelly. When we walked in, all eyes were on us. I hid my small figure behind all of them, knowing I won't be seen.
"Ooh, Look," Bolin exclaimed as he turned over to the side. On the wall, there were five mugshot pictures of us. We were wanted. "They have a mover poster of me," Bolin said so excitedly, "Must be big Nuktuk fans. Yeah. I should go over and say hello." As he was about to, Mako pulled him back and explained to him how were wanted.
"No," he said, "Those are wanted posters. And there's one for each of us."
He read down one of the posters. It read, "Wanted by her majesty, the Earth Queen, for crimes against the kingdom." The Earth queen sure is crazy. I peaked out from behind and approached my poster.
"I'm guessing this is because we took her air benders," Mako said, looking behind him to the two ladies. Korra was visibly angry by the fact Mako referred to the air benders as the Queen's possessions.
"They weren't hers to keep," she defended, "I swear, if I ever see her pinch little queen face again, I am gonna—," but before she could finish, Asami said something.
"Uh guys..." we all turned our attention to the amount of men getting ready to attack us. I backed away to the exited and left before everyone else did.
"We should get out of her," I could hear through the cloth opening.
"We should get going," I said and got into the jeep. They all consecutively nodded and did as I said.
"In the building," I said quietly but everyone came in to listen, "I talked to my grand aunt. Her name is Azula." They all gasped—Bolin gasping even more dramatic. "Yes. I know. She's a horrible person," I said to them but I don't think that was the reason they were gasping, "But she said she'll meet us at the Misty Palms Oasis. I think that's a clue."
"You're probably on the right track too," Asami agreed, "With the way Naga is going, it seems we are heading towards there too so it's probably best to head straight there."
"You hear that Naga," Korra said to her Polar Bear Dog, "Let's make our way to the Misty Palms Oasis."
The jeep started and we all drove straight down to the Oasis. I really hope I'm right about this.
The drive wasn't too long, but it felt like forever. Especially with the questions Bolin asked me.
"So you're basically a fire nation princess?"
"Yes."
"That means you have royal blood in you. So technically if there was like no one else, you could be fire lord?"
"I guess so."
"That means Lord Zuko is your grandfather?"
"Yes."
"Oh my god that's so cool. Mako! Do you know what this means? We're friends with a princess. A princess from the fire nation!"
"Honestly I don't think it's that cool. I mean I don't know my background," I explained to him, "I really don't know what I am besides the fact I'm a royal. Honestly, Azula might not even be my grand aunt."
"Naga found something," Korra yelled.
We slowed down into a stop. I saw the Misty Palms Oasis at a distance but that wasn't what Korra was talking about. There was a gigantic rock that looked like was covering something. Korra moved the rock aside and uncovered a parked jeep. I got out of the jeep and made my way to the empty one.
A/N: Hoped you enjoyed the ending is kinda weird tho lol.
